Success, for a minute twice a day, at least. The clock sits there and laughs at me.

I had it running on the bench for a little while, but I guess that's not quite good enough.

  2. Mark, that would make it off topic.:)

Watched a couple friends use 3M panel bonding adhesive to put a new rear fender on Chevy. Took 45 minutes including grinding the e-coat off the mating surfaces. They had it lined up beforehand. Last photo shows the squeeze out.

I’m sure there are down sides to this method, but it seems pretty slick.

I had a good friend put a partial quarter on a 69 Camaro with that method back when the factory started doing that. It worked well right up until it had issues at the joint a few months later. However, a complete quarter where that seem gets covered by trim on that 57 will likely be good. I’m still of the opinion I would rather weld stuff on, but I’m sure I’m also just stubborn.

On a totally unrelated note...I just happened to notice your location @Almostdone My daughter has been up there the past week staying with a friend of hers that she met in the orphanage in India. Anyway, small world... :D

Should be cool! I came real close to buying a project 66 for my wife probably 10 years ago or so. My son and I went to look at it and he was sitting in the drivers seat while the owner and I were standing in front of the car and I was looking at the motor. My son was messing with stuff and popped it out of gear and the car was headed downhill. About ran us both over while we were just looking at the car.

  9. What are you working on? That is the question. Well, i’m currently working on getting my avatar ready to sell. Why you may ask? In my case it’s a financial issue ( gotta pay the bills that is) . So unfortunately I’m having to let it go. Okay, speech over. If anyone wants me I’ll be in the corner.

Wow, sorry to hear that but have also been there. Praying you can get what you need out of it and it gets to another good caretaker.

  17. While waiting on parts for the Henry J I decided I'd put the brake controller and helper bags for inside the coil springs on my off topic daily.
I remember why I've put this off for over a year now lol
It doesn't have a plug n play option, the factory wires are tucked up way under the dash that you have to dig out after wedging yourself in there, then there's two hidden wires under the hood you have to find.
The bag things once deflated and flattened out are about 2 1/2 inches wider than the inside of the coil spring, what a struggle to get them up inside there. Still need to run the lines and put a heat shield on the exhaust pipe but I'm waiting until the line " T " arrives to finish that.
Did I mention I had this thing oil sprayed underneath last year, sure didn't help those bags slip in but sure helped to get a fella filthy.

Good way of getting rid of drain oil, coat the underside of your ride.

Got the 350 in the Desoto that was pulled fron a 52,000 mile Camaro that was rear ended 22 year ago running ...I misted the intake heavily with penetrating industrial lube first... fired up on the first crank....

Just got my '60 back from paint. Now it's time to reassemble and take care of some minor mechanical stuff, then drive it!

I got a new rear bearing, and put the Muncie for the Corvette back together.

I also pulled the rear axles, and removed the wheel bearings, one came apart from the force of pressing it off...has a couple big pitted areas, I guess that's more likely to blame for the "wup wup" noise than the strange bearing in the transmission.

Is this the same Jimmy that had the orange and white 150 57 Chevy that shows up at Bob’s on Friday nights?

Just looked at your profile, yup. Did not know you were a HAMB member.

Nice! It was a serious question though, given how the first one looked.
