Guide coat on the primer will help you if you can't see all of them with just primer.

Started sanding yesterday, got the drivers side pretty close to finished, touched up a couple dings/spots I missed.

The air cleaner on the Corvette is an aftermarket one, modified to sort of fit, and I haven't got round to ordering a new one (they're not cheap, of course). The stud and nut rub the hood, and eventually will eat a hole through it.

so I measured and looked in my old Wix catalog, and there's an element available that fits some early 60s fords, that is about 3/8" shorter. So I finally got one, and put it in, and cut the stud down a bit, and cut down a wing nut, and got it finished.

Yep, also, many intake swaps ended up with an air cleaner stud denting hoods from the inside! Laughed at a friend for that when we were teens.

Stripped and painted this Model B timing cover. Used Bill Hirsch paint. Seems to be good stuff.

That and tried to clean/organize the garage. I need to make some room to work. If everything works out i'll be doing an engine swap on my '40 Ford soon. IMG_2100.jpg

I had one for a while about 12 years ago. Did the job, no issues. Sold it when I moved.

  17. I don’t have the Harbor Freight hoist, but that’s exactly what I’d buy if mine took a dump.

  19. Got more sanding done on the Barracuda, probably 75% sanded, going to re-prime one quarter. Then spray some door jambs white and should be almost ready to paint

I've been tinkering with old radios. theHighlander sent me another corvair radio, but it was a bit newer than the one I had....it didn't work either, so I tried using it's output transformer to fix the other radio, no dice. I went to the back up plan, and kind of gutted it, and installed a modern amp inside, so I can connect power, speaker, and plug an mp3 player into it. And the power switch and volume control work, which is something that's important to me. Oh..it only has one speaker and one channel, so it's not really a stereo amp any more. But that's ok.

Oh...the tuning knob and pushbuttons still work to move the pointer inside....that's also important. Even if they don't do anything.

Here’s one I did. Bypassed the radio switch to turn blue tooth amp on and off. I like full time 12v so I added a buzzer in case amp accidentally gets left on. 1F2C7191-8E7C-4B78-9883-CF28CC30D8AD.jpeg 02DD0173-635B-4385-A8D9-8A03341D15A2.jpeg
Blk cord goes to amp Wht wire taps into door jamb switch.

1933 Ford glovebox radio come back in for repair and conversion to 12V.
Cheating on this one a little with a 12-6v buck converter which is going to be tucked away inside.

Going to realign it too, see if I can't improve the reception a little.

    There we go.
Now works on anything from 9 through to 24 volts.

Radio pops and crackles away, needs a tweak to get it 100% but that keeps the input to the circuitry at 6.00 volts, stable.

re-primed the quarter that required a fair amount of “touching up”. Then put some sealer on the door jambs.

I am glad the ole b'cuda is sitting on tires as well as jack stands. I watched my old t-turd roll right off the stands on a gravel surface in my misspent youth. Anxiously watching for the finished pics.

I decided to replace those plastic teardrop 39 taillights with original style with glass lens and stainless retainer ring. I had to cut a bigger hole but I really like the light, very bright and looks like a bulb inside but it's really LED. Speedway brand. IMG_1574.jpeg IMG_1576.jpeg
