I finished machining the spacer for the 215 and cut relief pockets for the cap screw heads of the nose piece. Then bolted the pieces together to verify the stickout of the pilot shaft.

IMG_0616.jpeg IMG_0615.jpeg Finished the slugs. Normally no big deal, but leaving in a few hours to see the grandkids for a week. I’d rather not leave in the middle of a step in the assembly.

Looks good Sandcrab! My T5 has the 7 1/8" input shaft also so keep me in mind if you want to sell one. Thanks.

Looks like a decent price on that intake manifold.

I’m waiting on rear brake parts for the Olds rear end in the Austin. So I decided to attack the brake pedal/MC problem. I did consider rebuilding the monstrous MC/pedal assembly that I took out, but it’s a single and the pedal position is really awkward. The driving position was the deciding factor, so I dug into my stash of junk to see what I had to work with.
I had this nice chrome pedal with a pad that really fit the British car theme.

And I had this Alston race pedal assembly.

After some mock up, a modified version of the Alston clutch pedal works best, with a Mustang MC under the floor. Fire up the sawzall and the welder.

I cut the firewall for a “footwell” so I could move the pedal to a better location. The current tin work is sad and I’ll probably redo it all soon, but for now I just cut out what I needed to.

Man, that looks like a clean Chevelle other than maybe some rust down low?
