When I would go to the Melt Down Drags the car entry number goes in a raffle. It was my lucky day. :)
The Melt Down guys really had it figured out. All the sponsor money went into buying stuff for car guys and gals and they had stuff donated also and it went in the raffle. They are non profit.
One year a won a stack of DVD's of vintage drag racing.

It would be great if you would select full size images when when you post pictures, it just makes it easier for those of us that follow the threads. TIA

  11. I'd be delighted to have welds that good. I've got the Hobart Handler 190 and a Lincoln tombstone backup. As an old farmer once told me, "I guarantee it not to rip, rattle or tear." Breaking wasn't guaranteed.

I'm just glad it doesn't look like a cattle guard off a train.

Finished up fabricating pedal mounts for AV8 conversion. Didn't want to spend $$500. on a pedal kit or trying to locate an F1 or 32 cross member, so was able to do it with $12.00 worth of 1/4" plate. When I removed the body but before pulling the 4 banger I made a Jig for pedal location. Was able to land the later pedals in the exact spot that the A's were.

Tomorrow I'll circulate the fuel system to check for leaks and turn it over with the coil off to build some oil pressure, if all is good then see if it'll fire.

Last time I attempted this the harness melted down freakishly.

  22. Digging thru some of the trans junk I bought Monday.
Guy said he had all the pieces for a Saginaw R10 set up.

    plus spares
    IMG_7272.jpeg
Got an extra non OD Saginaw and another trans with OD with all the other junk
    Kinda simple.
Didn’t come with solenoids but I have 3 and 3 governors at the house.

I’ve got a bag full of the needle bearings and other small pieces for the OD

  23. Thought about using the Saginaw in my merc. Almost the same length as the Merc 3 speed set up.
Ive got an s10 t5. About 2 inches longer overall. Only thing I kinda don’t like is the 4:1 first

  25. I’ve spent quite a few hours stripping my 56 Bel Air Sedan. It’s been sitting around waiting it’s turn for way too long. It’s got a long way to go. IMG_9334.jpeg

  28. Right now I’m wrestling with an exhaust system for my’40 Olds. Tried block hugger headers and they hit the steering box. I have now bought “extra short” headers and still have an issue with the down” pipe. Just ordered a flexible exhaust pipe. Hopefully this will work…
