"The Lively Set", has always been one of my favorites, I even own a copy of it. For me, not only the story and the street rods, but use of the Chrysler turbine car.
But did you know, "The Lively set" is a re-make of "Johnny Dark"? A 1954 Tony Curtis film with basically the same story line, I own a copy of that as well.
Even "The Fast and the Furious", was a re-make of a 50's film of the same name.

and for those with an interest in history, this is a great documentary!
I was at the premier of this film in Springville NY, and liked it so much I bought a copy when it came out on DVD

This is a documentary on the road race around the world won by a Buffalo built thomas Flyer, driven by Buffalo native George Schuster..

If it has a old car in it I am there, seriously, I will watch a crappy movie for a 30 sec clip of a old car. But in no particular order

    Worlds Fastest Indian
    American Graffiti
3 (not even a Earnhart fan either)
    Days of Thunder
    Six Pack
    Dirty Mary Crazy Larry
    Heart Like a Wheel

    I could go on forever.

  8. American Graffiti
    Hard Driver
Hot Rod ("Black and Decker aquarium pump"...priceless!)
    Catch Me if You Can
The Racing Game (great documentary about James Garner racing in 1970)
Behind the Wheel(?) (another doc with Paul Newman)
Heart Like a Wheel (story of Shirley Muldowney)
Wheels of Fire (drag racing doc from the 70s)

    Wow...where the fuck is "Lost Drive-In" ?!?!?

Any one know what car Fay Dunaway was driving in Chinatown???
I'd vote for Thunder Road !

  10. The Blues Brothers,
    American Graffiti,
    Mad Max I & II,
    (Three sucked)
    Bullit,
    Aww hell there are dozens.

If you want a classic Aussie bike movie try 'Stone'.
    Doc.

The original Vanishing Point from 1971. The Bullet car chase scene, I watch it over and over, it's always good to see bad guys in suits! You can't leave out Elvis in Speed way, Spin Out and Viva Las vegas. When I was Kid I loved Fireball 500. Don't forget the bike movies, Easy Rider and Girl on a Motorcycle.

Hands down, it's "Bullitt," followed by "Duel," "Tucker," "Thunder Road" and "American Grafitti." But I have seen some doggy movies that would have flopped without a ton of cool cars to save the crappy scripts and direction!!! LOL -- Jimi'sHemi291
