I store all my paint whether it be acrylic lacquer or enamel upside down. Turn up the right way just before needing and makes stirring easier when you need to use 'em.

If you want to practice with auto paints, buy them at swap meets. I have bought lots of half filled cans of paint for a buck each. You can tell by shaking the can if the paint has dried out. I use an Iwata gun for base coat and clear. Have a few other cheaper guns for primer.

This is my residential garage paint job. Base/clear, Iwata gun, electronic air cooler, dedicated air lines, etc. I sanded and polished this fender today. I spent 2 years taking my PU from rough as hell to what you see. Most of that was body work and prep. Painting is done in a day. Results take time.

I store my cans normal, but then again I have the mother of all commercial paint shakers so I have an advantage over most. Upside down? No thanks, 2 reasons. 1st, sometimes no matter how well you clean and seal the ****er eventually leaks anyways. 2nd, it sits long enough and all the solids bond to the lid and you still have chunks to **** with, only now they get to splash back in and slop up your work space, or you have to be oh so careful not to make a mess. Red Devil shaker to the rescue. Like I said before, been at it a while. Long enough to hate it but still do it. Strange huh?

I still have and use both of my JGA-502s. I have newer and better guns but there is something about those 502s I like.
