Since no parts stores or battery stores around here have a Nash or Hudson or AMC Metropolitan, nor an MGA, listed in their computers or books, I was wondering if somebody could give me the type battery I need to run in this thing.

PS- there was no battery in the car when I purchased it.

Use a couple of 'D' sized batteries...triple A's would be too small...!!!

All kidding aside, is the car 6 volt or 12 volt, that alone will make a difference...and some of the "better" auto parts suppliers can point you in the correct direction...buying a battery for that car isn't all that hard...or it shouldn't be...!!!

Measure your battery box, decide were you want the posts, how tall etc. and head for the parts store or Sears or? and see what fits. get the largest, strongest battery that will fit in the space. If you got a hold down then you allready know the size. Good hunting. Ralphie

Pretty simple really. And make sure it's 12 V. if that's what a Metropolitan takes.

Thanks to the serious replies. The car is a 12 volt and I am going to convert it to negative ground. I found a metropolitan site with step by step instructions on how to do so. I will try a honda battery out.
