Can anyone help me? I need to know what bolt pattern my 55' mainline has. I measured the holes across from each other and I believe its 4.5" But not sure if i'm measuring correctly. I see on some posts where people say theres are 5.5 and 5.5-1/2, and others say 4.5 I'm confused. Thanks for any help, I want to order some Cragars from Jegs but need to know what size to order.

Big ford is 5 on 5.5, so wagons, some mercuries, some lincolns, etc got that. Your car should be 5 on 4.5

I have a 55 Fairlane which is basically the same as yours .
Mine is a Ford small bolt pattern which is a 5 bolts with a 4.5" bolt (5x4.5) pattern . Same as Mopars , Taurus , Jaguars and so on . A very popular bolts pattern right up to todays Fords . The only real problem you will run into is the hole in the center of the wheel . Some are very small and some are bigger . Just make sure the wheels fit the front hub before you worry about the rears Also if you are considering on a disc brake conversion anytime down the road make sure you buy disc brake wheels . There is a difference !
    Hope this helps .
