What would i need to connect a tv cable and throttle cable to a 94 carb to maintain correct geometry? Surely someone has done this before. The parts stores don't have a clue. Pictures or places to buy would be great. Thanks
Check BOWTIE OVERDRIVES in AZ. They have just what you need in addition to adapters for many other carbs. YOU MUST HAVE THE CORRECT GEOMETRY as the TV controls everything in the 700R4 unlike the turbo 350 where it only controls the kickdown function. The adapter screws to the 94's linkage with a cam to give the correct pull ratio. Adjust the cable at full throttle, engine off of course! It should pull tight just when it reach's full throttle. Adjust in small increments to get the shift timing and firmness just right. Don't let it "get away" with shifting too early or too soft. This setting can cause damage to the trans clutch's in the higher gears. Have fun!
Thanks.i checked it out all I found was a kit for 2 barrel rochesters. Will the adapter work on a ford 94?
I'd be interisted in knowing the exact pull of a stock set up. From wide open to idle, what is the travel? I have a simmilar issue but nobody makes a "kit" the Meteors and I need to make my own hookup.
Doing the same with an old 8 stack Hilborn , now with EFI, does the rotation ratio change ( like a cam shape) or is it constant. Thanks
you could also start with an Edelbrock bracket and modify as needed. "somewhere" on the net I have seen the geometry needed at the carb / injector. *edit* http://www.cpttransmission.com/tech_tvcable.htm
