Hey Hambers, Going to replace the entire flywheel/clutch on my '32 Chevy street rod. Running a 350 sbc with a M-20 Muncie & 9" 3.50 rear. dyno'd at 325 hp 340 tq at the wheels. Have 22,000 miles on it. Right now I have a 10.5" Hays street/strip diaphram, that grabs 1 & 2, but I feel has always slipped when I pound out 3 & 4th. Street driven but it does get some work at times (when the wifes not in the car). What do you guys like? Another Hays, Centerforce 2 or Centerforce dual? Thanks for your input. Tell me your good & bad thoughts.
I've always heard really good things about RAM Powergrip clutches/pressure plates and that's what I recently purchased for '62 Biscayne with an LS-6 454/M-22 Super Muncie 4-speed combo.
My favorite clutch for a chevy was the 10.5" L88 clutch. Kinda pricey but easy pedal and it grabbed well, even on nitrous. My newest clutch was the Mcleod street/strip. Horrible pedal pressure. Heard good things about the Center Force dual friction clutches.
