I saw a similar thread on the main board but sometimes it's too "big" out there. Thought I'd start one here & see if any interest a****st other blue oval folks.

I have quite a lot of car related stuff and need to start thinning it out. While most of it cost a bit, I need to get rid of a lot of it and would rather trade than sell it outright. If anyone's interested, here's some of the stuff I have:
    • Posters, posters posters. hundreds of them, many car related and some beer too. Most are new and still in the cartons. Lots of NASCAR stuff, some NHRA, and manufacturers. I don't have them inventoried but if anyone has a specific want list, let me know?
    • Used NASCAR sheet metal. I have have a few pieces, some might be autographed if anyone is into such stuff. Makes for nice display items. Oh, and I have one of Kevin Harvicks gas cans from '01. It was likely Earnhardt Sr's before he lost his life at Daytone but cannot prove it. So it goes as the #29 can. Shipping might be a bit costly on this stuff so be advised. . .
    • Diecast and plastic models - mostly newer stuff - nothing more than 10 years old. Boxes of 'em. Lots of NASCAR stuff but not all. And not all are cars - some are boats/ships, might even have a few planes mixed in.
Most of this stuff is packed away and I'd have to spend some time searching for anything specific. Again, I'm not so much in it for the $$, I need space worse than the money and want to thin my collection.

If anyone else has stuff they'd like to trade or sell please post?

I've collected so much **** over the years that I have filled a 10,000 sq ft shop. I help other's build their dreams and quite frequently they have access to my collection of parts during their build. Some of the stuff I bought, and didn't use, some of the stuff has been donated. My customer's also share too. Helps make our hobby a little more afordable. I have actually built several award winning customs and hotrods with "stuff sitting around". I've been needing to buy an electric fan for the radiator in the trunk of my blown and chopped '56 Ford and "low and behold" I "found" one on one of my shelves. Good one too.....Spall 2800 cfm. Don't remember if or when I bought it, or a customer did, and didn't use it, or somebody else donated it, but Im putting it to good use. I also collect model cars, mostly metal. Some are as old as me 63, and the newest are about 10 years old. Some models haven't been put together yet, still in the original box from the '60's......kinda kool. Some day I will die and my wife and daughter's with a little help from some friend's will do the "thinning out". Any time I've tried "thinning out", I've ended up with more ****........

I'd love to collect stuff... but I have a display/storage problem.... The space I have is for the cars I'm working on at the time. I tend to keep only the items related to that project. If the car goes away.... so do the related parts to make room for the next project. Let the sales begin!

I have a two car garage for my cars and a 3 car work space for the projects with one bay having a 4-post lift in it... so space is limited.

I also have an office in the shop that keeps my essential keepsakes.... The most dear to me are the pictures of my car guys around here and thier cars. I have a special wall that is dedicated to my "lost" car guys that have past on. That wall is filling up too fast.

I've dreamed of a much bigger shop someday but i'm satisfied with what I have for now as I limit myself in spending!!!!

It would be interesting to see what is in our shops and collectables!

I really don't have very much at all, having just gotten into rodding in the past coupla years. I do collect a lot of antique/ vintage stuff. Even if you have a ton of stuff, as long as it has some collectable or monetary value, I wouldn't consider it hoarding as much as an "investment". Your wives may feel differently :)
