57-60 seem to be the magic years for me. Sadly, outside of my high school '59 Desoto, I've never had another.

Any 1930's thru early 1970's cars and trucks... What I have always liked, appreciated, and been in awe of, is the creative lines and styling of each generation during those years.
I really miss how you could see any car/truck back in the day, whether day or night, near or far off in the distance... You could tell the year, make, and model of what you were looking at. Today... you have to actually park beside something and look at the plastic emblem to know what you are looking at 99% of the time.

  3. I like almost all from 1937 through 1960. My most liked are from the General 1950-1952. Of all those the 1950 Buick will cause me to hyperventilate. Or close to it, anyway.

there are no American cars built before 1965 that I would not own. the majority of the cars I have owned were just nice original examples of everyday cars. whitewalls and hubcaps. no modifications at all.

Yeah, I know what you mean. I do a lot of double takes trying to figure them out.

I quit trying, there's not been a new car of any interest to me for 3o years or more. I have no interest in the styling or the electronics, they all look alike.

I used to think if I only had a Pantera. Then I realized I can have a lot of old Fords if I forget about the Pantera.

I have a few : '28-'29 "A"roadster PU/Dirt Sprint Car/ '41-'47 Studebaker PU/ '57 Ranchero/'52-'54 Lincoln cpe/'56-'57 Continental, & so far I've had 5 out of 6, so I would guess that I've done pretty damn good!! Of course not all of them were runner/drivers... even when I passed them on...

Believe it or not, I bought one of these as my first car @ 15 years old (around 1970). 283, three-on-the-tree. Road hard, put away wet, right out of a field. Primered front clip, no front bumper and open manifolds. My buddys took me to pick it up, all we did was put a battery in it and away I went (no DL). My Mom was not the least bit impressed when I rumbled into the driveway, 283 growling. You couldn't have knocked the smile off my face with a ball bat!
Had no idea what I had then, flipped it, damn...

One of two. ‘40 Ford coupe, or ‘57 Chevy. I admired the fins since I was 6/7 years old and my dad told what year and make it was.
Never had or will have either.

When I was 13 in 55, I spent all my time down at the Chevy dealership. I knew every model, trim, color, options. I would explain features to customers. I would correct the salesmen.
    I like 55 Chevys.
    My next is 60 Chevys.
I am also known for liking 32 roadsters.

    23 Ford Tee bucket
    28/29 Ford Coupe
33/34 Mopars (tho I have a couple of 34 Chevs instead)
    39/40 Ford coupe or tudor
    46-48 Ford tudor sedan
53 Studebaker Lowey Coupe (the one with the pillar)

Actually , that is the seriously shortened list, because, apparently, you cant get em all.

And a pikky of my 34 Master sedan under construction (its still under construction actually)

  27. I can stop and admire most any make/model car if it catches my eye, but that takes a lot these days. I also tilt towards customs also, so that changes the dynamic too. Oh wait, this is what I want? I'm pretty much a Ford guy, although a few other makes have snuck in here and there. For a hot rod flavor, the '42-48 Ford coupes do it for me. I like that they're roomy and comfortable (well, mine is...) but have early styling. Not into tail draggers... sorry. Then I skip up to '58-62. Bigger cars (even more comfortable), but longer and lower, and FE power is already there. Make nice customs, not seen too often anymore. My other fleet oldie, a '60 Sunliner 'vert. This is my current preferences, I've owned all sorts of cars over the years, some I wouldn't mind having back, but so it goes...

I love the car in my avatar and my stock 40 Ford Deluxe convertible. I also love all 32 Fords. My all time fave is the 1964 Watson roadster.

Reading back again, I think you were wanting a specific vehicle, not just an era. So for me there are a couple that makes me have wet dreams. 1932 Ford 3 window coupe, 1959-60 Corvette, 1965 GTO.

1929 Model A’s, I’ve had more of then than any other car. My 29 cabriolet with a lot of kustom touches.

Shoebox Fords are great for comfort, drivability, and Kustoms.

I’m too close to 80, or I would be building a 1933 full fendered five window Ford coupe tribute of a car I always loved as a Northern California teenager in the sixties.
