I once bought a 1969 Chevy Pick-up for $13.78 that's thirteen bucks and seventy eight cents!

I asked the guy what he wanted for the truck, he told me to bring over a case of Miller Lite beer and you can have it! All the truck needed was a hard line for the brakes replaced! It wasn't the slickest truck in the world but it ran and drove like a million bucks. I drove that 'ol truck for couple a years and sold it so my girl friend (now ex) could have a down payment for a new car! Damn I miss that 'ol truck!

    I also bought a 67 Caddy Coupe De'Ville for $80 bucks!

Best deal for me was three (3) Corvairs (1960 4 door, 1963 coupe and 1964 Spyder) for $5 TOTAL in 1968. I was able to actually drive one home. The other two ran but were not driveable. Used the motors on my dune buggy/scrapped the bodies.

Every Single one I have owned!

    1963 Buick LeSabre Convertable 2003- $35.00
    1964 Buick LeSabre 2 dr Hardtop 2007- $300.00
    1964 Buick Lesabre 4 dr 2008- $400.00
    1964 Buick Wildcat 20080 $1000.00

They are still out there. I search Craigslist all the time, and there are good seals to be had!!

  10. Buddy got a '37 coupe with a fairly decent main body and frame, had been a stock car, for $300 in 2007. Doors aren't welded up, it would need a parts car to make a rod out of it but for a vintage stock car, just put a drivetrain in it and go. (I wouldn't run it too hard, the cage in it is made out of household water pipe!).

  11. I wish these were still around that price.....My boss is restoring one and i wont mention the amount of $$$$$$$$$ he's put into...

  12. Anybody get anything 1949 and under in the past 5 years in california? (Sorry if someone already posted one.) Didn't see where everybody's from scrolling down. Some states come across better deals than others. I think.

  13. Or I should say, Los angeles county?

    in the 80's / early 90's
70 olds cutlass s $50 needed an engine, swapped in the parking lot in college
71 Triumph TR6 ran fine as any of them ever did might have been $1600
67 mustang fastback 6cyl $1100 needed brakes had new paint

under $1500 right now? I'd look for a dart or duster maybe oh wait o/t
I'd look for a shoebox ford or any complete car in need of total restoration should be able to find one under $1500 easily

  16. Back in the day (1977), my '53 Ford truck for $300 while I was in H.S. In '80, a '56 Ford truck for $800. Got into vans for awhile and picked up a '64 GMC Flat window for $1200 in '82. In '91, I picked up another '53 Ford truck for a grand and in the 21 century, I got a '59 Ranchero for $1500. A bug here and a bug there for a grand or less but these days, I can actually afford a decent car but it cost me a few more zeros. I like the ones with 2 or less though, more fun and less stress in the parking lot lol!:p

Most of my cars were under $1500.00

    1941 Plymouth coupe...........$600.00
    1935 ford pickup.................$750.00
    1965 Coronet 500................$250.00
    1965 Mustang convertible.....$350.00
    1967 Mustang GT convertible...$50.00
    1967 coronet r/t convertible...$300.00
    1969 superbee.....................$500.00
That doesn't include bodies, frames, motors and so on to build a few more cars, well under $1500 as well.
