Need to get a coil for my A tomorrow. I'd like to grab an internally resisted coil. Whats a part number for a good coil to use/vehicle it would have come in so the parts monkeys don't get confused when they cant plug it into the computer.

I never saw a 6 volt system with a voltage drop to the coil.

Purchase a coil for a 1967 on up VW. They are internally resisted and they work great. I have them on Model T's to forklift to my Porsche. If you can find a Bosch Blue coil that would be ideal.

That price seems a little high, but I haven't purchased one in a while. If you can't find a Bosch go for a Napa one next. I have also had good luck with Carquest.

It's a 12v system. I'll check out the coil for the vw. Thanks.

  7. I also like the ones with the internal resistor, less to in wireing it up. but with the external resistor you can byp*** it when cranking and it gives hotter spark, so it starts easy. just keep the points good and clean and it will start easy anyway.
