Although I like the car in white and red I think I want to change it. I love the red interior and cant come up with a color other than white to go with....( black is out of the question ) the red interior. I keep leaning to a light gold...? Any ideas? Should I just flake the top and call it good? Photoshop welcome. I would love to see some ideas. Thanks

Silver, grey, dark gray. I'd go black, if it was mine.

I owned a '65 Falcon that was silver-blue with a red interior. Sounds gross, but looked sharp.
Any shade of gray or silver would also work.
Why repaint it at all? What's wrong with the white?

PLEASE, leave it alone. It looks awsome as is. Go find a beater to get your paint fix on! Dress the car with a set of steelies or a set of TTO Americans. That is all that great little wagon needs.
I have an original '67 Chevelle wagon that is Capri Cream with a gold interior. The only thing I did was to add the American TTO wheels. The difference was night and day. The TTOs are the remake of the original Americans that came out in the early '60s.
Guess I'm too much of a purist when it comes to cars with an original survivor appearance.

    Dark maroon would be nice.

    Silver

    Pewter

    Obviously black

It looks good as is though. Flake the roof and call it done.

Pewter might be cool / different. Anyone got the urge to photoshop some color on this. I like the idea of a real dark blue suede with flake red top as well.

  13. I agree with all of the above, but, how about a tone-on-tone by color matching the paint to the interior? A red/red car would be cool (and probably not seen too often).

  14. Damn that is a nice looking ride. I dont know if i would change it at all. Maybe a respray of the white with some flake in it?

It's gonna be pretty hard to improve on white and red. Black maybe...

The white is nice, but black is the way to go. Navy blue would be nice too.

A repaint of the stock white would look great and that would be a hell of a lot easier to do than having to do all the door jams, firewall, under the hood, etc. If you are a glutton for punishment, I think late model GM truck Victory Red would look just as good too. And if not red, how about pearl white?

Leave it white, blue stars across the hood, and red stripes across the top and down the sides... Sort of a g***er era inspired all american theme.... JMHO

I like the navy blue too as in Washington Blue.

My favorite would be a new car silver. I never used to like silver, but the newest model year paints are a very silky, very luscious looking metallic. We have silver over a lipstick red leather interior on my wifes 2006 Mustang GT and it looks awesome with the dark gray factory fake torq thrust style wheels. Real nice combo...

Gotta say, I love original patina too.

  22. A medium silver-grey with red interior can't be beat. Maybe a touch of metal flake.

Thanks for all the ideas and complimnents. leaving it alone is certainly the most budget friendly idea....flake the top of course. Although the star spangled Nova idea was interesting. NOT going to happen.

It would be hard not to want to do something to that car but that original clean look is what makes it so interesting, all its minor imperfections is its history, dont cover it up.
consider changing the wheels if you are ready for a diffrent look.

Here is a photochop of the pewter/silver look, which, now that I think about it, would look BAD ***.

I hate white cars. I work in a fleet of over 2000 white U of A cars. That said, yours looks GREAT IN WHITE! I'd leave it that color.
However, silver shades came to mind, but not too dark. A creamy white would be cl***y. Your basic white is cl***ic

    greens and blues would ****...
