In my senior year (1985) I had 2 cars. A primer black (before it was cool) '48 Ford Super Deluxe Coupe with flathead, and a baby blue 390 '64 Galaxie 2 door hardtop. Miss both of them.

  3. How many can say they still have their high school car? Mines only 1984 vintage but I do. Hasn't rolled 100k yet but close.

The year was 1976 and I had a 1968 Buick G.S. 400 with a holley, hooker headers, Crager GTs, posi rear and turbo 400 trans. It ran high 14s in the qtr.

Only car cooler than mine was a kid with a 66 chevelle with period correct graphics all over it and pearl white paint.

Members bitched about this thread when it began five years ago and it's still going strong!
I probably commented before. My cool car was the 1949 Dodge Coronet coupe I bought in 1956. I was in that class that had a dream, 1957.
Maroon with wide whites, venetion blinds in back window, shaved doors, hood, trunk and "Y" pipe lookin like fake duals.
Yea I was Kool! After all it had a six with fluid drive. ;) 50 cents an hour after school bagging groceries paid for the car and insurance.

1960 was my senior year and my cool car was a '50 Ford with a '56 Chevy 265 motor. Motor had a Duntov cam, Corvette distributor and a two barrel carb(ran short of dough when it came to carburetion).

I had a '29 Ford roadster pick up with a hot flat head V8. Still have it but my daily driver was a '53 Olds 88. Not cool at all in '67 but it would be now.

Class of 1979, dad bought me a 1970 4 speed 1386530847830.jpg SS454 Chevelle with blown 390hp 454. We put a junkyard 350 in it to get it where I could drive it . Worked construction all summer and bought a complete 396 out of a 70 SS that was abandoned on I 65. Loved that car and combo

62 Ford Unibody short box F-100. Also had a 74 Plymouth Duster that we put a 383 in and a 1929 Model A Special Coupe that I was restoring. Tornado took the shop in April of my senior year and the coupe was a total loss. Did a quick flip of a 54 Chevy over that winter. $75 car, $200 for a 283 with transmission and $300 in paint etc. Sold it for $1200 after working on it for 3 months in my spare time. Rod

  29. Started senior year class of '79 with a '69 pale green Merc Monterey more-door that I shared with my brother, then for my 18th birthday/graduation I got a '63 Galaxie 500 2-door boxtop hardtop all to myself - black with red cloth/vinyl interior, 260/3-on-the-tree. I held on to the Galaxie until '91 and sold the clapped-out hulk; a '66 Skylark GS is still in my friend's garage and comes out once in a while.

Was a senior in 1963 and was driving a 53 Chevy. It was bone stock and I wanted to do so many things to it but needed to save money for college so never did anything but paint it and drive it.
