It's an icon for those into hot rods and/or early Ford V8s: 1940 Ford Deluxe passenger car grille assembly.

Not a Ford guy, here. I guessed 37-39 model year SOMETHING...and Googled as such. I was a year off or I'd have not needed to ask at all.

    Thanks!

Saved from the crusher! Worth about $250-$300?

  6. It's worthless, so send it on up to me in Maryland. If it was attached to a car I'll take that as well:)

You can see in my avatar what it looks like on the car. A real score. Here are the ones I took off mine, I just had to have shiny chrome. They make great shop art. One is '40 deluxe, the other is '39 deluxe.

You wouldn't want to ruin its value by selling it to some one to put on a car that would just be stupid.

Soooo...you can tell me what I'm doing is stupid, so I guess I can sleep okay at night saying this:

Stupid is someone who doesn't own a particular item, telling someone who DOES own it what they ought to do with said item.;)

Besides...how am I "ruining it's value"? Please explain. I hadn't really thought about it, but I would think that by my hoarding up this one, that makes them that much more difficult to find, thus INCREASING the value to those in search of them. That is, assuming that the fact that I found one that had been in storage (by my dad, btw) since the 60's really changes the value of them by anything at all.

Nope...show me an IH Scout part and I can tell you everything about it...just not a Furd guy. I decided that I'd build a '36 IH and found the site a while back.

Instead of hagglin' me over what I am doing with MY stuff...go beat some bushes and find your own parts and put them on your car. Then we'll both be happy.

I'd be proud to hang it in my garage. Hell, I'd put it in the living room if my wife would go for it.

Priceless.....if you go calling me names, you probably won't be buying anything from me either......

  25. It's his grille. I guess he can do what he damn well pleases with it. I'd put it on my garage wall and display it with pride. If a friend came along that needed it, they could take it. He found it. It's entirely up to him to do with it whatever he wants. All that said, I cleared a spot on my wall, so feel free to bring it on up to Maryland. Okay, it's not THAT far to Bridgewater, Va., so just to end the arguments, I'll be happy to come get it.:)...Don.

To make the masses happy, I'm gonna put it on the classifieds. You can put it on your car or on the wall...no matter to me. ;)

I offered mine for sale, got no takers, so hung them on the wall rather than continue to trip over them. If you're anything like me, you've got way more s--t than space. I have a 1000' shop, a barn and a garage, and I have to turn sideways to walk through them. BTW I also have an IH!
