Got this old Fenton intake cleaned up and restored the old polished finish someone had given it years ago.

 Did all the yard work on sunday, saturday went out to look at an old buddy's spridget he was thinking I might be interested in taking off his hands with aload of spares but we were too far apart on the price.
Today morning I'm rooting in the garage like a Rat finding all sorts of stuff I'd forgot I had and finding bits I need to get all the motors back on the road.
Later I hope to get the truck running then after a check over and grease round take her later in the week for the annual Inspection, which I'm really dreading. They have introduced another system to prevent fake certificates and instead it takes longer, costs more and hell, you don't know if the computer at the test station and the one at the ministry are talking the same language.
Wish soeone would de-invent computers then it would be so simple and this myth about 'saving paper' would stop!!!

stopped some fuel leaks and created some other ones and managed to weld up most of the trim holes that weren't finished and put my transmission back together with a new throwout bearing.

Well, I finished the bodywork on the barn doors on the 1950 Burb. I'm real slow at bodywork. Also got the roof straight on the '70 Honda 600 sedan, it was pretty lumpy. Rest of it is straight, so now it's just scuff-n-shoot it red.
The Burb gets wet sanded next weekend, plan to paint it by end of March.
That, and some yard work, too short of a weekend!

    j.t.

  6. I ran a 3 way wire to the barn for lights and a underground wire to the wifes fish pond,,,

Not what I wanted to do but both needed to be done,,,,,because I'm still waiting for ups to bring me the parts for the truck,,,HRP

  7. Hmmmn practicle hotrod now that's an oxy-moron. Ya know once in awhile I like to see one with mail slots. Ya gots to rember one thing keep your head on a swivle. Always turning and squinting to see out but that's all part of it.:D

I didn't get a damned thing done I'm afraid. Now if you had asked a week ago I would have said I built a crossmember and tranny mount for a '59 El Camino but that was a week ago and already moved on to bigger n better things.:D

Anyway the old truck looks rough as a cob but I like it it'll be cool when you get it sorted out.

With the roadster in the body shop making great progress, I had to do something to get ready for the re-assembly that'll be here before I know it.
I spent part of the weekend detailing the flathead. When I installed the new engine in 2002, I rushed the paint to be ready for the Gathering of the Faithful. I picked the engine up on Wednesday, painted it on Thursday, installed it Friday. The paint was still wet!! I made it to the gathering by 8:30 Saturday morning.
I decided to paint the heads gloss black for some contrast. The headers are not the ones that'll go on when it's installed. The correct headers are getting ceramic coated as we speak. They should be ready next week.

Gutted the interior on the Comet, took inventory of what needs fixing, reupholstering, painting, etc. Started fabbing patches for the floor but had the wrong wire in the welder for sheet metal and didn't get them in.

Got the new engine in my T: '53 EAB flathead, stock bore, stock stroke, reground cam (260 duration, .310 lift), shaved the heads to up compression, pretty much everything else same as last engine (dual 94's, Mallory YC dizzy). Fellow HAMBr Nosurf came over on Saturday and helped with that. Got it running Sunday and took it for its first drive that evening. I've got a lifter ticking pretty loud, so I'll have to pull the intake and adjust before I run it again.

Found a new place to live with a huge garage and great back yard. The new landlord is knocking my current place down (restored 1939 Tudor style cottage) to put up some million dollar mansion.

I also spent a few hours getting the rear shackle bushings out and sanding my rear axle housings preping for paint.

Friday, I tagged along with some old guys (my dad and his friends) to the Detroit Autorama. Saturday was non-eventful. Sunday I broke open my piggy bank and drove to Indiana to buy a 55 Chevy truck.

built a new tank for my scooter. Used a early 80's honda tank, split it and narrowed it a few inches and built a new bottom.

  15. yeah, the being able to turn my head is why I decided not to go ahead and section it a foot in addition to the chop...my son likes a bit being as tall as me, and he can barely fit in it now.

I hadn't seen one of these posts for a while, and I KNEW someone had to be up to somethin bad-ass like when I was on here all the time...I'm not disappointed, a LOT of great stuff being built...I'm enthused once again!

thanks! it was a cob when I dragged it home, it's just shorter now...I can hardly wait for that first trip around the block...
