Had ALL the bodily fluids in the daily driver changed yesterday,

and spent most of today spreading and sanding filler on the Coupe.

Got my coupe running after procrastinating on it for months. A new Edelbrock carb, a good looking fabricated fuel line (if I do say so myself), a new air cleaner, and (after it wouldn't start) a new coil. After only about ten trips to my three favorite parts houses, the old girl finally kicked off. Bucked and spit and backfired a bit, then settled in. After filling the tank with fresh premium, it runs like Jack the Bear. By the way, those Edelbrock carbs are amazing. Didn't require so much as setting the idle or choke. And no power valve to blow out....

I found out how big of a mess you make when you hone an engine block with a flex hone, using 10w30 as a lube!!! [IMG]
But hey, I got my block honed and cleaned! [IMG]
Also got all the bolt holes chased, got all the hardware cleaned, got the old rings off the pistons, got the piston/rod ***emblies cleaned, and got REALLY high from Brake Kleen!!! [IMG]

Finished cutting and tacking each frame side rail for the front kickup and where it narrows under the cab.

Cut the front of each rail to accept the Model A crossmember.

Hopefully will tack the rear and front crossmembers in this week.

    We shall see....

I found that if you cut and weld on a set of pedals out of a 5.0 mustang, they will fit under the dash of a '39 Ford! Mounted the master cylinder, made a mock up of the column and wheel from cardboard and a broom stick. Sat on a milk crate and make engine noises as I speedshifted the new pedals!!! Kinda looks like I got something done for a change.

Got lots done all around but in the vehicle dept. I put a power steering pump and gas filter in the wife's Miata, washed my truck and checked it's vital fluids, fired up my daughter's '56 Plymouth for it's weekly running and checkout session (she's in the States), and [IMG] worked on fabbing the AV8's E-brake linkage and rear bumper support. [IMG] Regards, Dave.
