Spent Sat. building headers. Got the cones from speedway(junk! never again) and the flanges from a hamber. Got about $60 in them. Next steering and brakes.

Check out the $20 gas pump I bought last weekend at an auction. They have the price of gas set at 37.9 [IMG]

Drove into Phoenix for spiral rigid duct work for my shop. I talked to Bill for a while, he set me straight how how I should run the exposed heating / cooling ducts in my shop.

His idea was much simpler than I had come up with , cheaper too.

Thanks to River1 for telling me about the place

Bought some tools ..... tore down, washed & half rebuilt a 700 ******...... did some yard work this AM ( sunday)..... just sittin on my *** at this point.

May take the scooter out and streeeetch it's legs & clear my brain

True to my nature, I bought Model T parts instaed of the Model A parts I needed. Why is it more fun to start a new project than finish anything?

  7. Got my Ford-O-matic ****oned up and refilled, tried to start it and realize it's time to rewire it. Got rid of a flathead that was cluttering the barn (went to somebody elses shop) kept the oil filter canister for MBL.

I rent the barn and the owners mailbox got hit by a drunk. His son and I spent most of the day righting it.

The reason it took all day, is that it is a solid pillar of concrete 4 feet out of the ground, 3 feet into the ground and 18" square, with re-bar inside. I don't see how the guy drove away. I had to put my cherry picker in 2 ton mode to lift it and cut off the broken concrete and rebar that was underground, burning the **** out of my thumb in the process. [IMG] I'm going to have a beer now and leave my shirt off to frighten little children.

yesterday while bombing around in the coupe the valves start making noise..

one of the polly locks decided to back off, no damage just a h***le.

this was not the first time, it's going back together with a new polly lock to replace the one
and I'm gunna upgrade the rockers to needle bearing and use girdles soon as I can afford it.

last weekend blew up the rear end in my O/T monte carlo (i refuse to accept all responsibility for it shattering the spidergears and wearing out the carrier since ive only smoked the tires occasionally [IMG])

so..i was feeling pretty ****ed cuz i didnt realize finding a rear end for a 68-72 chevelle or 70-72 monte was gonna be so hard to find, all my leads were dead ends... then one day on my lunch break i cruised by the local "pick-a-part"(not the offical one, just a local s**** yard) looking for a chevelle or monte, but came across a 68 buick skylark 4dr where it had been sitting in the "older" section of the yard for at least 6 or 7 years that i know of ....i even took parts off of the engine of the same car for the fenderless farm truck(TM) to use on it when i had the buick 350 in it!
well, heres the funny thing ,cuz i figured id just go ahead and stick the BOP rear end in it,but once i got it jacked up enough to crawl under i found out it was a chevy 12 bolt!!(c-clips) .., and nobody ever pulled the rear end out of it the entire time it was there!!i popped the cover, inspected the gears to make sure WHY it was still there and eveything was dazziling .
..so i spent saturday morning pulling it out and PRAYING for the clouds to hold their rain...called my dad who lives about five minutes away.,we loaded it up walking though a virtual land mind of pilled up and ****tered parts, paid my 35 bucks(YES ,35 BUCKS! [IMG]) , came back home ,,replaced the gasket & fluid, replaced a few control arm bushings, swapped the wheel cylinders and shoes, bolted it in,bleed the brakes and then went out to eat with the ol lady...im chilling today. Nothing really exciting.
Sat. morning,Went to the blasters, picked up the trunk lid for the 47 Ford. Went to the house my daughter bought with her and filled some holes in one of the bedroom walls, started back home.

Never made it, got a call she lost her keys, so her mother and I spent the rest of the morning looking for keys.

Got a call from one of the dealers I drive for to take a car to a customer in Lawrence,Ks, so went to Neosho, picked up a Stratus RT and headed out for Lawrence, Ks at 3:15 pm
Left the Stratus and picked up the customer;s car, a very much worn out Celica.
    got home about 12:30 am

This morning, loaded up ladders, paint rollers and went to daughter's house and painted bedroom walls. Talk about fun!
Just sitting around now waiting for trick and treaters. And bed time!!!!

Never got an invite to Scarry Larry's place.. so I went out to Bally PA and shot with a pretty famous EAST COAST Willys g***er. Some of you may have a July '68 Hot Rod handy, but for those of you who don't, Its the Hills Bros. '33 Willys running a 426 Hemi. Ken Kull is now the owner along with his father. Ken has recently completed a Willys truck thats almost identical to the coupe. It also runs a 426 Hilborn injected, blown Hemi.

I spent the day pouring over old mags and photos and generally shooting the **** with Ken. Walked out with some cool old patches, stickers, and some beat up old Hemi pistons. Not a bad way to spend a Sunday. [IMG]

The "Red Baron 2" Willys truck is coming out to the Hot Rod Reunion next year to show the West Coast how its done in g***er country. Anyone that wants to run the RB2 is more than welcome to give it a shot. The car runs A/Gas and we're looking for match races in that cl***. If I can pull enough cash together , and, maybe sponsorship, I'll be heading out with the race team.

Spent most of Sat. fabricating and machining hold down clamps for the magnetic chuck on my surface grinder. Got some welding and bridgeport work to finish and I'll finally have the surface grinder operational. This will be the last machine to be up and running. Must be time to get some more equipment.
Just remembered I've got to check with the guy that owns the Pulmax I found in an old warehouse. I'm keeping my fingers crossed he'll sell it. I've been jealous ever since Metalshapes got his. I'm also finishing the design of the frame for my big english wheel. I'm adicted to the small one I built so it's time to "super size" [IMG]

Well, It probably won't mean much to most of you guys, but I chopped all of my hair off! (well, most of it anyway!)

It's a pretty big deal to me, as I have had long hair for exactly 1/2 of my time on this planet! [IMG]

Other than that, I screwed around in a couple of Cemetaries trying to record EVP's, but it was too windy.

I also finished up the Halloween Decorations and Took the girls Trick-or-Treating tonight, and that's about it!

Went with George (Revhead) and Will's (HillBillythekid) to their shop after KKOA. Pulled the motor from Will's newly aquired truck to make way for a y-block.

Yesterday I met another HAMBer (Satinblack), checked out his cool projects, and bought a frame off him. This will be a good foundation for the altered project. Then, later, I found an old center-spigot keg in my brother-in-law's backyard, and he let me have it for free. It's in great condition, so, suddenly, I have a gas tank!

Today, I was at a junk store and found an unknown grille shell and radiator. The radiator is junk, but the shell is really straight and in great condition except for the bottom of the shroud. It was rebuilt at some point so it has straps brazed on the sides, but, well, they add character and it only cost $25 so I'm not complaining! All in all, it's been a great rodding weekend. Now I just need to get started wording on this stuff.

Related to Paul's rocker problem. This weekend I found out what a pulled rocker stud is, up close and personal. Had to make a tool to be able to tap the hole for a repair stud. I'll do a Tech post in case anyone else needs to fix one. On the bright side, the SBC in my 51 Ford panel is ready for re***embly in the morning with all new lifters in place and will be on the road again. [IMG]

Well, I drove 450 miles round trip to get a $50.00 gas tank for my car.
Ended up getting a complete flathead 8BA as well.
Spent some time this morning putting together the engine hoist so I could get the motor outta my truck.
