Got my new (really old) air compressor working and plumbed, bought a (gasp!) front end from a Dodge Diplomat to put under the front of the '53 F-100, started taking the old front end out of the F-100... went to a swap meet on Sunday, and bought a fire extinguisher... ummm, mowed the lawn, etc. Didn't even watch much TV (other than some episodes of Rides from the DVD's Michelle bought me)... Mounted the battery in the Buick and worked on running new wire. Preparing to move into my new house.
Picked up the pick up from the blaster,built a floor and tunnel in it. Built bracing for body,and chopped the top 4".Layed around the house Sunday.
No, I'm pretty sure we're laughing at him. I finished making my mom a deck, and then she announced that she wants a flower box/trellis attached too! So I got that mocked up yesterday and when I get home from work I'll that. Never promise your mother a deck, guys, and especially don't promise to build it before you do any more work on your car! Moved the front Crossmember under the frame to raise the front end, got the Model-A frame boxed, made the frame kick up, cut off all the old axle brackets off the rear end, made brackets for the grill shell/mustang radiator, and mocked it all up to play with the fenders. Suspension and steering are next.
Took an 8 hour Fundamentals of Surveying Examination. fun fun thought about my car during the lunch break. Geno
Started laying out the new wiring loom on the 55 pickup (I HATE wiring!!) so once I had enough of that I played with the monster-fied for awhile......
Triple checked the pushrod length for the caddy mill, then triple checked again just to be sure. Gotta get rid of those excessive shims under the rocker shafts. Put the best gaskets rear main seal in (gotta be better than rope). Ran leak down check on all 8 just for grins. Studied new trans mount for 4L60 and started thinking about crossmember. 17 weeks, 4 days, 14 hours, 6 minutes till HAMB Drags.
Kicked it for the most part. Went to the H.A.M.B 4th annual BBQ on saturday and meant some cool people including Dante, the host of it. Spent the evening with my grand kids. Went to pomona on sunday morning and hooked up with todd, hiway 7 and dale. Got my Road Devils club jacket from dale and it looks cool as hell. Picked up some odds for the 63 gmc and went to the Dodger game in the afternoon. And they won. All in all it was a real nice way to spend a weekend for an old fart like me. later dudes chuck
