What did you do this weekend?

Discussion in 'The Hokey Ass Message Board' started by Kerry, Oct 15, 2006.

  1. I finished my battery cutoff. Went to a local Sonic cruise in thing. Got to talking with a local fellow about my blower plans and he ends up giving me a pair of rotors!

Went out to the Great Bend dragstrip Saturday and met Chicken (bad yellow Cad powered T) and his brother Larry out there. It was a grudge match/ test and tune sort of deal. I only made 22 passes. The best was a 13.43 @ 101.69. Weather was great to boot.

I did forget my helmet and had to borrow one from Chicken. He assures me it was good for at least a tenth. ;-)

Friday: replaced wires, points, rotor , cap, installed fuel pressure regulator and gauge.

Saturday: built and installed exhaust system, installed seat cover, and some shitty pinstriping, I need to practice some more before I go anywhere near my car.

Saturday night, and Sunday: drove around and wasted gas, then some honeydo projects around the house.

Just got back from a camping trip with friends in Arkansas and hauled home some rusted 2 wheel metal to fill my garage. Added 2 more Triumphs and a BSA to the stable. This makes 6 British bikes, with all but one being basket cases. Early plans are to rebuild the '69 Trophy 250 and ride it. Gonna leave the est. 20 years of weathering as-is.

vanquished the demons of sloth and laizness by taking the three bicycle frames I had gathered from around the neighborhood, cut, weld, fit and I have a working bicycle... with air in the tires I should have a 1/4" of pedal clearance... It's been something I'd been thinking about doing ever since I dragged my old stingray home from my dads house. Pics tomorrow

Got the Jeep straight 6 and auto home. Found out my Flathead (blowed up) is a 276 inch thumper. Got my spring perches welded to the radius rods by a more qualified dude than me (Thanks Terry!).

  29. My ten minute project involves a lathe and ruining a set of caddy cap emblems - I did learn first hand that if you leave the chuck in the lathe and hit the switch it will throw the chuck half way across a shop.

Otherwise we stood around in the shop scratching our heads at how much ambition one of us

Thursday: Saw Jerry Lee Lewis play a free show in Hollywood, ate dinner at a dive bar in Thai Town, went to an 80's club in chinatown.

Friday: went to a good nudie bar (sam's hoffbrau in downtown LA) went to octoberfest in Torrance where me and 2 friends got jumped by 10 cowards, I got the brunt of it getting jumped by 5 of them. Im ok though, walked away from it and got some good shots in too! Black eyes look worse then they feel.

Saturday: Cleaned out car, vacuumed and washed it. Went to see Deke Dickerson and Lucky stars in Pomona. Went to after party at a friends in nearby Claremont drank and talked 'til 4:00 am.

Sunday: woke up at 6:45, went to pomona swapmeet and got to meet some fellow HAMB'ers, hung out with some good friends and had some good laughs, got home at about 2pm-slept.
