  3. I put a coat of rubber on my flat garage roof, and did some cleaning and organizing. I am making a belated attempt to put some of the small crap in order as well as culling out stuff that is obviously just taking up space. A dull, boring, tedious job.

I used the unispotter to pull out all of the remaining blind dents in the back half of the Falcon. Marked all of the spots that still need to be welded up from getting rear-ended. Marked out and started cleaning the rust spots from chips in the rear half. Tomorrow, I will prep all of the panels that have yet to be welded on for primer, and as much of the rear half of the car for primer as well.

  5. Chopped the top and got it spot welded in the corners . Will put my relief cuts in tonight after supper and metal finish tomorrow. If I can get the back window and windshield cut Thursday it will be done one week after I got it . Should make a good driver . Blue

I sat in the shop and drank coffee while jamming out. Looked around and thought of how blessed I am. I always dreamed of having my own shop at home and now that it's done, well it feels great! 20170823_163653.jpg

Finished shop in December. I keep it fairly clean. I have a small shop that I keep the junk in. And yea the scooters for beer runs. Ha ha.

  10. Got my teeth cleaned. Worked on the foundation for my new 2000 sq ft two storey garage. I hope to have it built this winter.
I had to rebuild the carb on my Ford powered Bobcat, and even though I didn't change the governor settings, I can't get the thing to stop surging. It is driving me to distraction, and I had to walk away for awhile before I used a stick of dynamite to fix it real good. :)

    Hello,
Since there were some rumors/old age brain freezes about some missing car photos and papers by my wife's dad, we were frantic about missing some stuff we needed for medical benefits. So, months later, we had to finalize the estate of my wife’s 98 year old dad.

We were looking for some important papers and some missing family photos. (more car photos, a 50 Chevy coupe, a 56 Chevy sedan, and an old military Jeep.) But, since the papers/photos were not in his left over belongings that we had previously cleaned up after he left his home, we assumed that everything was in place.

But, after consulting with his bank, to close all accounts, we found out that he had a safe deposit box that was never reported on any forms from the bank. (Never online the last 5 years or before that time via the U.S. Mail.)

Back in the 70’s or 80’s banks were offering "free" safe deposit boxes if any new account was opened. Our family opened an account and got a free box. My wife’s dad also opened one, too. But, for all of these years, his was not reported to us nor was it ever put on some bank statements about its availability.

Our small, free box was converted to a larger one and now we had to pay the fee yearly for the box. So, we were notified on the online accounts and in the U.S. Mail. But, my wife’s dad’s small box was still free and as was the bank’s policy, never reported to the customer on paper or online. So, as caretakers of his accounts, we were unaware of its existence. His memory was not the sharpest as the years rolled on in these later years.

Last Friday, we had his “free” safe deposit box drilled open and found a ton of important paper work that could have saved us many trips and calls to various government offices. (Including “end of military service records.” We had to have it searched in their archives, and as the story goes, the building holding those old copies had burned down. We did find in drawer number three in his own desk, a copy of his final military choice: "re-enlist or discharge." So, that satisfied the U.S. Gov't about military service and benefits. The final veteran's paper work was sent to us…a three month's wait.) But, no additional family photos…

No, we did not find a registration pink slip for a 1967 Ford Cobra sitting in a storage garage somewhere in So Cal…booo…

So, if there is someone getting on in age, please make sure all of the important papers are accounted for and that there are no secret “free” safe deposit boxes somewhere with more important papers or photos.

The bank's response: "When you come in to settle the estate, then you will be notified of any existing accounts or safe deposit boxes.

Ok, thanks for saving us a several months of searching, driving, and phone calls when we needed it... big corporations....sheesh!

Since I had to babysit the 3 year old granddaughter again today, I loaded her in the car and drove to Yogi's and bought a radiator for my '32 5 window project. She was great, considering I had her in the car for 5 hours!

Finally realized that 2017 is the 80th Birthday year for my 37 Chevy. Today I cleaned the bugs off the front end and touched up some chips. Took her to lunch with my car club friends and then a nice ride in the country. Will be sure to give her some priority over the other cars for more road time before the snow starts to fly.
"Happy Birthday Year" old gal. Thanks for all the years of great rides.

Looks like the early 90s but for some reason I like it because of it, like its a nicer representation of that era....
....however some old polished slots etc would look good on it too.:)

Yup, I did the Chopped 37 build back in the late 80's. It had hot pink scallops on it back then. My kids both enjoyed driving it during their High School years. We sold the car in 2000 and I found it again in 2011 bringing it back into the Family where my Grandchildren and Great Nieces and Nephews now get to enjoy it like their parents did.

I was working on removing the rear leaf springs on my project '54 Dodge truck. The truck has the standard issue shackles on the rear and the pin type on the front of the rear springs.

I have sprayed it all with Kroil's every three days for two weeks. The left side, of course, came right out by screwing a 3/8-24 bolt into the pin with a spacer. On the right side, however, it was really struck. I thought it was coming out until it got really easy. That's when I discovered it had stripped the threads on a Grade 5 bolt.

Now I'm sitting here drinking beer and being in a bad mood. I'll borrow the neighbors acetylene set up tomorrow and the little bastard will come apart then!

Went to check out some parts and met a dude that had not heard of the HAMB so I encourached him to check us out! He had a Shoebox Ford with a cammed Flathead with no mufflers just running out the lake pipes sounded great! He also had a 49 or 50 Buick that he had done a lot of work to.

Today I snagged a SBC 400 at the local pick a part. It has an Erson solid lifter cam and ported fulie heads. While I was checking out several people told me what a nice 305 I had found.
Oh well, if no one recognizes a 400 when they see one that leaves more for me.

  24. When I read your last paragraph, I was already chuckling to myself, because I was going to write that the blue wrench could solve that problem. The blue wrench can melt away a lot of anger.

Opened up what was supposed to be the final patch panel for my Falcon, from Mac's, and found that they shipped me 22ga. junk, that matches no curves on any Falcon I have ever seen, under the same part number as previously good stuff.

    Hella pissed.

I visited the HAMB in the morning and evening as usual and in between I went to the AAA for the yearly registration of my OT daily ride.
