Well I guess it's back to YouTube to see if I can figure something out. I didn't want to pretend to be a big time YouTuber side kept it private except people that would click on my link. It works for me earlier but now it's not even working for me.

For now just pretend you heard the dragster running and the wheels turning forward and backward as they should.

I went back to YouTube and think I changed the video to "Public" rather than "Private". I updated the link in my post #3690. Maybe it'll work now?

If it still doesn't work maybe this will?

I'm much better working with cars than I am with computers.

Left the house at 0430, arrived at the Portland Transmission Warehouse Spring Classic at 0530, visited a friend in a nearby hospital at 1330, arrived home at 1600. An epic car day.

This morning I pulled the engine and trans from my '48 Panel to swap out transmissions. Next is to stuff it all back in and 20230516_124954.jpg finally finish new engine mounts for steering box and header clearance. Two steps back for one forward.

DSCN2707.JPG DSCN2705.JPG I have had my therapy time in the shop over the last week or so, I have changed the pinion yoke out, reinstalled the axles along my fresh rebuilt driveshaft, changed the oil and looked at the plugs. Took those Hoosiers to a buddies shop and balanced those , one ounce for one and 1.5 ounces on the other. With my hood installed it is easier to access the plugs through the fender. Life is good ! Now waiting on Farmington dragway to reopen after they settle the paving issues they have ran into. IMG_0998.JPG IMG_1000.JPG

Got the horn to work and finally took the car for its first drive this year (we had nothing but rain and more rain until now here in Austria) to make sure no gremlins visited during the time it spent dormant. Took it real easy and did about 45 miles. Nothing acted suspiciously so on Sunday I plan on going to visit a friend further out in the countryside, adjust/bleed the brakes and sort out the non-cancelling self-cancelling blinkers (yes, I know what it sounds like), and then hopefully it'll be a successful inspection so I have my 2 years of peace and quiet. I forgot to take pics of the dismantled steering wheel but it was nothing really, just sorting out the brushes. I have some road pics though... Came back and stopped at the Austrian equivalent of O'Reilly's to get a couple of 1st aid kits (legal requirement here). Checked fluids and all was well. Crossing my fingers for Sunday.

Finally got the frame and running gear painted and assembled, rolled it to the back of the shop and set the body up on the stands. Now I really have to get busy with the body work... (yuck)

1st day at the drag strip to do some easy test passes. This was the 4th pass. Still not all-in at the line and my driver lifted at about 400'. Pleased that the car went straight and the driver said it didn't do anything ignorant.

Satisfied with the initial "mild" shake down passes, my plan is to completely disassemble, finish up some non-critical welds I couldn't get to before, clean and paint the chassis, and reassemble.

It was a thrill to see it make some passes. I've been building it for about 19 months and that's pretty much everything; chassis, narrowing rearend, building engine and the Powerglide, and just to complete the 60's throwback look, a single axle trailer.

Based on the test passes I think I might have a race car on my hands!:D

The other day I said two steps back and one forward. Back at it today and took about another three or four steps back. It's amazing that what I took apart a dozen years ago, and made a few changes, and putting back together is fighting me every step of the way. "Fun With Cars, and Trucks."

Sorry I had to miss this year's festivities. It looks like I missed a good one. I asked a buddy if he took pics for me, he said "no, I dragged my chin on the ground all morning." I hope yer buddy is alright.

You going to Rose City Round up?

After strengthening, and repairing my frame around the motor mounts, it was great to get it washed up, and out for another run yesterday!

  27. While waiting on parts for the Henry J I decided to stretch some wires in the 41, figured out a new location for the fuse block and started the mounts for that.

I started the day hitting a small swap meet and picked up a couple steps for the 57's other bed I'm going to use and couple other things

On the way back home I stopped at the oldest kustom shop in Buffalo NY to catch up with a long time friend, always cool stuff there
