i am glad i only tacked it in badly
    miles off
    so the questions are
can i get the column, double joint and the steering box in a straight line - and in the stock position regards brake and clutch pedals = check
can i get the steering wheel plane in the correctish location = check
can i get the pitman arm to land in the correct for and aft = check
can i get it at the correct height - well no as the thing isn't finished and you have no idea, so get that far and bend the pitman arm if you have to - you have a 7 degree reamer, if it gets so bad come in from the top.
at least it clears the starter - groovy, might even be able to run the stock cast headers.....
oh and you are making a sump / oil pan for sure

    edit
move it over to the left 5mm
    move the column over 5mm
    bend the pedals 5mm
the pitman will clear the bone
    bring it all forwards 5mm

Adding a timing cover, water pump and fan, along with a balancer w/pulley(s), should answer your question.

Got the mounting holes drilled in the new floorboard. Alyn and I test fitted the seat :). Seat has to come down at least 6 inches. Lots of leg room.

Hey Alan! The car looks cool! I like how you stretched the doors. The seat does look tall.
I sure wish my head was down behind tha windshield on my T. Is main reason i am building a whole nother car. Are those windshield posts from john lee williamson?

Unloaded the roadster in Sarasota, then drove to dinner in 80 degree weather. Sure beats shoveling snow. 8E1700E2-977D-432A-BF8C-3F4FA40CFDAB.jpeg 507BCC97-0B46-4EB4-9DA4-4AC928B77F6D.jpeg

  13. Cut this part loose and straightened it out

    Screenshot_20231104_192611_Gallery.jpg

Welded an inch to the bottom for a different plan, missed a pin hole with the weld

One step forward and two steps back, the ratio was too much at 3-1, got to get the arms more even

IMG_9488.jpeg I continued to work on the floorboard, and almost finished the largest part of the transmission tunnel.

I made it more complex than it needed to be to immerse myself in the process. I just really enjoy working with steel, and I got to use some of my favorite tools.

I got the distributor installed and the tach hooked up. For now I installed one set of points, I had to turn the cap about 180 degrees for easy access to the window for point adjustment. IMG_1078.JPG IMG_1079.JPG IMG_1077.JPG

Changing starter.somebody swapped c6 and put wrong powermaster.it worked but sounded like you try to stick trail track in a saw mill.
Now its gear reduction starter but correct older style flexplate tooth count.
    Now sounds like mopar... 16993847479636496912812367457027.jpg

    done the one side,
I have found it most difficult.
    if i may bore you....
started with the swap meet bushings £5
    they were 84mm long
so I thought I wouyld get some 90mm box tube with a 5mm wall
tickle the 4mm off the inner spreader and grind and file down the outer tube 2mm each end
drill through the box section where the bush then sat flat,
cut the shape out with a 1mm cutting disc in a grinder
needed to get the front to back of the bushing in line with chassis centreline
and get the side elevation to match the crank - line of the motor
getting the engine in the correct for and aft
    and at the correct height
    and perfectly in the middle
balanced on a couple of concrete blocks
with some shims as the sump it at a slight angle as its from a front wheel drive car
with two front tyres with uneven wear

the bit welded to the chassis became shorter and shorter attempting to get it corerect

    ha bloody har

anyone want a three legged table........

Still putting the roadster project together and of course changing things as I go.
Test fit the new 3” chop windshield parts before getting the new glass cut. Anyone know someone looking for a 2” chopped one? :p:p:p

Fiddle farting with the fuel lines from the pump to the carb. This got me thinking about how to run the line from the frame to the pump. I found a piece of bent flared tubing to a rubber hose IMG_20230801_190822467.jpg

It's much nicer here this time of year. ;) I drove to a local shop yesterday, for their car club's work day, so it was great to meet some people and hang out. I drove right past the big "Sarasota Cars and Coffee" at a shopping center, where by report there were over 800 cars. Mostly exotics, I'd have been one of just a handful of hot rods amongst the Lambos, Ferraris and Aston Martins. Next month I'll class that act up a bit and go there.

I had torn an antenna hole in my new car cover.
I decided that today was make and mend day. I’ve never tried to sew anything before other than a button. Let me tell you that the fabric for this car cover is thick and pushing through a needle I got more pricks than Christy Canyon. My stitches started out looking pretty random but after I got going I got better at it. I initially put a French seam on the tear facing the paint, anchored it at each end but I really felt like it would not survive without an anchor patch, hence the needle marks on my fingers.

Sheesh that's a lot of cars for a meet up. Apart from the K'zoo nats I don't think there's anything near that big in west Mi.
