borrowed a buddies trailor and me and my #2 daughter delivered a 40 ratrod chassis i was working on this spring and then went and picked up a 30 a coupe ive had in storage since 99. in between the rain, we cleaned it up and got it running on sunday. guys, take my advice and make the most of it while they are still little...before you know it their friends will be more important and they wont want anything to do with dads greasy old cars...

  4. We watched the movie "HOTROD" together for the third time in one week! My boy loves that movie. I told him we will get some more good car movies in the future.:D Gary 4T950 Chevy Guy

  5. I opened this post with a little hesitation;I didn't know whether I really wanted to read it or not.

My kids have all grown up and gone their separate ways;the youngest is 31 , the oldest turned 39 a couple weeks ago,and the middle one is 36 today(or yesterday;it's after midnight).

I feel a bit guilty as I never did spend enough time together with them as they grew because of working 100-plus hours a week(by choice;not by necessity)to try and give them what I thought they needed.Guess what? They really didn't need IT!

If there are any regrets I have in this life,it is not making time for the children. So my advice to those who are just starting to raise a family:They come first and NOT the cars or bikes or whatever passion you have.Make every day count because one day you'll wake up and find there are no more days left.

My one saving grace is my 11 year old grand-daughter(the youngest)who when she comes over to visit immediately heads for the garage if I'm out there. She even likes to try her hand at using the striping brush once in awhile. She is the maverick of the family(a lot like me)and I guess that is why she is my favorite.

I let my 10 year old daughter try to put some pinstripes on the hood of my truck with colored chalk. She would put some then wash it off and do some more. Here is a pic of some that she did.
