lots of wetsanding and clear left to do...

bums me that the pearl isn't showing in the pics, but I'll be able to push it out in the sun in a day or two....

  4. That can easily be a weekend of work . . . lots of beer and a ton of swear words. Never invite your kids to watch when you attempt to pull the valves out of an old flatty! Yikes!

Well I got the block all cleaned up for my "chicken shit" slant six build up. I finished polishing the crank, and got the block all cleaned, honed, and painted. I also spent an hour or two arguing with the local advance auto about their price matching policy, after a talk with their district manager they matched my prices, so I saved a few bux on my parts.

I also took, edited and posted up a pic for my avatar last night.

I sludged my way through ohio and now (Lville)kentucky clearcoating (Nyalic)12 new Kenworth Tractors in Chillicothe OH for ExxonMobil. I wanna go go home to work on my 40 Ford Sedan.....

You guys should try some of our DubleHorn clear for stainless, aluminum and chrome, just unbelieveable what it does to spotted and faded aluminum, looks new again.

Spent all day Saturday doing the back splash in the kitchen to keep the wife off my butt. Today I was able to get the front clip off my 37 Plymouth for the small block upgrade...

Stumbled onto a 327 Chevy motor with a TH-350 trans for a bargain price while going to look at a project for sale a mile or so from my place today...

...then drove way out to BFE to look at another project that showed potential, but even I thought the welds and motor mounts looked scary on that one, so they MUST'VE sucked bad! Ha Ha...at least I got to put a couple hundred miles on my cool little daily driver Dart and scored a good "builder motor", though!!

On Friday I had a road trip (500 miles) to pick up some parts for the 36 project...

Got a nice original hood, 4 glass fenders, headlights and mounts plus a really nice 36 grille.....

It's always a good day when a guy gets new toys to scrub up

    .

Saturday was spent dismantling a 37 stude instrument cluster and cleaning it up. The water temp gauge has seen better days but for the most part it came out pretty nice. I still have to pull the odometer out and clean the rollers up then reset the odometer back to all zeros...

I had to straighten the bezel first then scrub the cluster with windex and a plastic brush....

The cluster has been safely put away and will eventually join up with a future 36 Ford as will the nice 36 grille and hood....

The next order of business will be to clean up and repaint the 36 grille but I haven't really thought about the paint color yet, It looks like the grille was painted a standard red at one time. It may or may not get original colors for now but I'm leaning more toward yellow bars and black surround or??

went and picked up my car from the glass shop(250 miles each way). it's been there a month. had a windshield intalled. i bought the car chopped. it is a nice job but with the way that it was done made it very difficult to put a windshield in. had to be cut on the bottom and tilted inward to meet the pinch weld. thanks to tony, rob and fred at revolution rod & custom/tri valley glass in livermore, ca. they were able to get it in. now i can start driving it with out my googles.

I got my alum tank from the welder on Friday. On Saturday I fabricated all new brackets for it, took me about 6 hours to make them. Then ½ an hour to remove everything and start it all over. Dammit.

I hate doing things twice!!!

Did some wiring on the '50 Burb. Horn, converter lockup, stuff like that. Neatened up and cleaned up under dash.
Cleaned up under hood a few things. Measured up some rear AC lines to have ends put on them.

  30. Got my ot mach one running for the first time since 1995! I have been restoring it all winter long. I purchased in SoCal when I lived there in the mid 80's, been 20 years since I drove the car. It was time, now if the snow would melt I could take it for a spin.....Don
