Haven't seen one of these posts in months. I was supposed to work today, but Lake effect snow and only one call worked in my favor.

I had been looking at Frame tables at HGR but the more I got to thinking, even one that I bought for cheap, I'd have to adapt to work for me, so I took some steel I had laying around and my new circular saw with metal cutting blade and this is what I came up with.

It cost me about $200 and three hours to get where I am now, all I have to do is add four large bolts and some angle iron for levelers.

I am also thinking of adding some sheet metal to the bottom side of the 2x4 to catch the slag and grindings and keep it off my tools.

Most people dont think far enough a head to put casters on frame tables. Looks good and handy. All i did was change out rearend gears and try and keep from getting frost bite .The beer stayed cold though ,so some good came from the weather.

Todays high was 14, the radiant floor heat helps.

  6. Lost 10 pounds from the flu. Started feeling better so went and bought a small 50-85000 btu heater and reinstalled my transmission. I think we made it up to 10 degrees today, not sure.

I didn't do much either. Been sick on and off since Dec. 23 and with the cold weather I said screw it and spent 39 hours watching B-J this week.

I got the body for my T Bucket earlier this week and this weekend, I made the seat for it. I hope to glass it in next weekend, after some minor tweaking.

About the same temp down here in Akron. Didn't feel like going to the garage today. I'll hit it tomorrow though. Nice table!

I fixed my torpedo heater and finished hooking up my front end on the %! merc and dropped the motor back down in place. I cleaned up the engine compartment and finished the final touches on the 2X2 intake and linkage and fuel lines. Work called and had to take care of some issues. Tomorrow I hope to install the intake and torque it down. The car went in the garage over a year and a half ago. This last month has been the first I have had a chance to play!!

Saturday got some more paint scraped off the Vette. About another day of it and it should be ready for primer.

Last weekend I had picked up another press brake, an ebay win. Finally got it out of the tractor bucket today and made a stand out of some scraps laying around. The new stand doesn't seem as sturdy as the other one, so I'll probably be making another one once I pick up some more angle.

  19. I got nothing done. I did however, begin to plan the rough draft of a new project I'd like to build...

I WISH I had just spend the day in the shop finishing up my father-in-law's El Camino. However, the day spent with my daughter watching football and surfing the HAMB was better than a day at work.... :)

    Hee Hee !!

Got up this morning, -27 outside, -43 windchill. Fired up the propane furnace and came back in for a cuppa joe. Spent the afternoon installing the steering column, master cylinder and brake pedal in the Zephyr.

By the way, I like the frame table - I could use one of those. I like the idea of storing smaller tubing in the side rails!

The city sent me a little 'incentive' letter to get going on the '55 and get it in the garage :D. So I did. Yanked the 283, the bed, and the front clip. Power washed as much crap off of it, as I could. Put in on some roller wheels/skins, and the Torques guys came over, and we rolled it into the garage. Then today, snagged a sweet set of Ansen Sprints, pair of 15x8.5, and a pair of 15x4's.............fun stuff around the corner.

I bought a rust-free and 100% complete '57 Chrysler New Yorker 2dr HT. Factory 392 Hemi and gray with maroon roof and spear (yuck). Will be black and ... maybe gold? copper? in the spear. We'll see. It will be loooooow with wires in a "wichita" very early 60s show car style. Got the swivel seats already and want to run an injected 392 eventually. Probably just dreaming on that one.

    Has some sweet options too!
    361 manual antenna
    328 power windows
    326 six-way power seat
    343 fender ornaments
    344 A/C
    349 dual headlights
    331 vanity mirror
335 outside mirror - right side
334 interior mirror - tilt type
321 radio - 7-button electro touch (search) radio
    322 rear shelf speaker
    323 heater - custom conditionaire
    332 solex tinted glass
    325 power brakes
    324 rear window defogger

Got the '50 Burb running on fuel injection, still need to dial it in.
Massive shop / work area cleanup, moved my Hunter alignment rack over for more room.
Welded the rear fenders on the 71 Chevy diesel duallie flatbed. Wired the alternator in.
Stripped some schoolbus seats to make 2nd and 3rd row seats in the Burb.

Got up to 62 degrees, so I went from hot coffee to margaritas while working! :D

Got Monday off, going up to play in the snow on Mt. Lemmon:cool:
