I just wanted to post some pics of Kritz's shoebox, I had the important job of supervising, and taking pics of Kritz and flatheadpete shaving the handles on the 50 Ford. Shows you that not only do we know how to party, but we actually do get some work done on occasion. -Joe

The gas filler door also fell victim.

    Nice work!

I got my truck (which also has neither door handles or o.e. gas filler) back on the road, see other post for boring details.

had one of the most productive days in some time. and it's my birthday none the less!

degreased and powered washed my sbc 283 on the stand. looked like a mud man afterwords. pulled it all apart for a rebuild. also pressure washed the whole driveway, probably creating some sort of EPA violation i'm sure.

all this and still had time for a birthday breakfast with my girlfriend, birthday lunch with my brother and his wife, and in an hour i'm off to birthday dinner with friends.

    i'm ****ing exhausted!

Managed to get my front seat bolted down properly, since I took it out the first time and snapped 6 of the 8 bolts, it's only been held on with two. Also got the shoulder belt portion of my seatbelt installed, and got an alternator mounted! Of course, that's the easy part.

after spreading a little filler around,
    I fired her up uncorked,
backed her out of the shop
and rattled the windows in the neighbors house [IMG]

spent most of yesterday driving the speedwagon about 400 miles and today putting of window blinks for the wife...

Since my speedo if off, this is actually closer to the century mark...turning about 2700 rpm... (60 on the speedo is actually about 72mph).

    That's too cool, Boones.

I didn't get jack **** done either. It was 8 degrees yesterday. Today was actually in the high 20s. About all I accomplished was cleaning out my closets. [IMG]

Randy, you are right, it was cold up there, when I went by Willards I left it running to keep it warm.. that was taken between your and my house on the way home.. I was going to try to get the needle to the century mark but steering and taking a pic was to difficult for my taste...

Torched the brackets off my A frame that the previous owner had welded on to convert it to a farm wagon. The ones I was worried about I got off without damaging the rails. Whew!! serial number is still readable which should make a ***le easier to come by.

thanks for posting those pics joe...i just got around to taking a break ...flatheadpete just left, and i thought it might do me some good to have a snack while the "bondo" dries... got the drivers side all welded up, mudded, and most of it's spot- primed... deck lid is just about ready to be spot primed after a bit of sanding. finally got the ball rolling on the old ford.

many thanks to jdubbya and flatheadpete for the help!!!!

Saturday was my birthday(49), went to breakfast with my son and some hot rod friends then went to the Hot Rod show over at the Cow Palace. They had a few rooms devoted to " Rat Rods" which was cool. There was a lot of local cars missing from the show , maybe next year. The coolest big buck car was the Tom McMullin 32 roadster, Roy Brizio just finished an incredible restoration. It looks so *****in today what did the locals think in 1964???? It must have been wild to see it running through the gears down a city street.

When I started at Truckin' Tom McMullen was still in charge of the place and he used to drive that thing into work every so often. He looked sweet in his gray leather jump suit with the big cougar medalian and all of his bling-bling gold jewlery stepping out of his roadster.

  25. Sat I went to help a friend pull his motor. As usual I was late. But we did have a chance to bench race.
Sunday I put a carb on the Galaxie, finally got my moneys worth out of the old holley. I got an Edelbrock new in the box on a trade. Never had a new carb before. Sweet. [IMG]
So the Holley is on the shelf waiting for the next rebuild, or owner which ever comes first. [IMG] [IMG]
