After replacing the headlight ***embly on my gf's car (a job that looked to be a lot more of a headache than it turned out to be), continued to paintstrip the recent etching primer job on the '57 Effie. Better results today, with the air drier. Sheesh.
BTW, congrats on getting yer motor re-done and running again, Burndup! I had similar experiences doing rebuild work at our place in Redding - literally in the uncovered driveway (no garage then). Being inches away from the sidewalk, the job was quite the conversation piece, as you experienced, too. Took too long to get it running again, but how awesome it felt!
Anyway- congrats, man! How great it must feel to holler up 134 (old stompin' grounds) with greater ease. Now go tear up the 210. [IMG]

I started painting some rooms on my new house. Lucky me I will be doing that the rest of the week. Then comes the fun part of moving garage stuff this weekend.

"Sat I went to help a friend pull his motor. As usual I was late. But we did have a chance to bench race."

    That'd be me.
Pulled the 'new' motor out of the '54 to send back to Carter's for them to figure out why it has a terrible appe***e for cams.
Found out that I can do some real damage to my truck in a very sort amount of time.

Mock-setting the Buick 215 into the engine bay tonight...

  4. I got the firewall out of the '37 and cut the floor runner for recessed bolts. Hope to get the firewall and floor in starting next weekend. Also got a Carter AFB for the tunnel ram.

I made up my mind I would spend the whole day Saturday getting down to work on my RPU project. Screwed and bolted allthe body panels together and planned to install stiffener braces so I could do some body work.

Between trying to get my shop warm, moving things and lighting around so I could (sort of) see what the hell I was doing, and other stupid stuff, I ended up spending all day not getting much done (and some of what I did do needs to be taken back). Didn't ever get the damn braces in.

All in all, a discourging time. This **** all seemed about 50 times easier 30 years ago! Oh well, it was better than Sunday afternoon, which I wasted trying to repair a pluming leak under the kitchen sink (it's still seeping, BTW).

Congrats to all you who actually accomplished something. Guess I'll just have to focus on doing better next weekend. (-:

How about what I didn't get done. I was supposed to pull an an engine out of an S10. Of course I lent my cherry picker to a kid last weekend to put the big block in his chevelle. After I timed it and got it running on the stand. Of course he hasn't returned it yet. Isn't returning calls. Hasn't been home when I went by. I'm getting really pissed...
