Changed out the rear shocks and left rear coil spring on the wife's OT vehicle, then went online to find out how much it will cost to replace the drive shafts on the thing. That car hates me; I hate that car. Also swapped the new tire and put the spare back in the trunk of my son's OT vehicle, all in upper 80s temps and high humidity. Why? want to get it all out of the way so when the weather cools, I can work on my '29 AA and have fun.
Bugger all, I'm sick as a dog. Well, not quite, I did find some minor parts I need, its the little details that make the difference.
pulled some parts for hopefully someone that needs/wants them.....the switch blade was kinda a neat find....
Replaced engine mounts in a 95 4X4 big block suburban and fixed the long overdue compressor drain. I need to quit doing that the compressor has never been anything but good to me.
I spent a good part of the day looking for the the handles and clips to finish the inside door panels that I knew I had. I finally found them, though why I put them where I did is beyond me. Must be gremlins
Block sanded the top half of the roadster. I am not certian if I will ever get done sanding. I am thinking at least one more blocking. Original Henry got a dings over the last 85 years. Hope to be ready for black in the next couple weeks. Walter
Cleaned the shop top to bottom blew out all the dust , overspray .then I pressure washed the floor. A little more cleaning on the bench tops tomorrow and its done .Then I can start to get it dirty again .

Screw him, i brought em anyway. Proberbly wont be spendin in there again. Also picked up four 34 Chevy wire wheels for my 35 Chevy. At least the price was right, im painting the guys trailer for them B-)
Dropped the jurassic 6 lug drum brake K member outta my 66' C/10 and replaced it with a disc brake 84-87 K member...Went to dinner came back and then dropped the 6 lug rear end and replaced it with a 71' c/10 12 bolt 5 lug rear... I am DONE for today...
Got the mounts sorted for the Jag diff into my 39 Ford coupe. Posted using the Full Custom H.A.M.B. App!
Whatta ya bet he mistakenly gave you his cost last week instead of your price? On small parts I wouldn't be surprised to see a 300% markup as there's just no room left in the big parts anymore. Still, he should have honored the quote and you wouldn't be talking about not returning, you'd be telling us what a great shop it is!
Actually nothing since February this year when I tore what I thought was 1 x shoulder tendon. I just had an operation and actually tore 3 out of 4 tendons. I don't do anything by halves so it seems and no wonder it hurt so much! Arm in sling for 6wks before I start physio. This is killing me already! Can't drive, damn awkward, frustrating! Such is life.
More like "What did one of my cars do to me today" Got a little lesson from the "University Of Life Masters Program" today that reminded me that I am not 20 anymore. The last couple of weeks I have been making good progress on my 66 Malibu 2door Nomad Wagon conversion project. Some rust repair required that it was now time to remove the tailgate. I have done jobs like this before, "No problem". Now I figured I would be smart and removed all the heavy window mechanism inside the tailgate to make it lighter. Upon removing the last hinge bolt I slid the gate allowing the tension rod to come out of its holder. What I did not anticipate was the direction the tension rod was going to travel. For this miscalculation I literally got a slap on the wrist (with the bar). My first though was "Ouch that is going to leave a mark". Immediately my arm was covered with blood. The trail into my house looked like a car leaked oil on my newly sealed driveway. The stairs and the kitchen looked like a crime scene. I tightly wrapped a kitchen towel around my arm to control the bleeding. Once I had the guts to look at the arm I noticed some of the guts were looking back at me. That is when I figured I might need more than the Hotwheels band aids I keep around for our Grandsons. I found a bigger bandage, wrapped it tight, drank lots of water and gave the kitchen floor a quick cleaning before I drove to Emergency. They said I will have a nasty bruise and nothing was broken. Got the wound cleaned real good and they closed it with 5 stitches. On a side note, the blood totally soaked my old beat up Timex watch. Well I cleaned it and it is still ticking. I am glad I am past that "hunky looking guy" stage in my life. With all the old and now new scars on my arms, no modeling agency would hire me. Maybe I will go get that haircut now that I put off this morning when I decided to remove the tailgate first.
Womens think scars are sexy. At least that's what I tell myself. posted via smoke signals made with a Mexican blanket
Unfortanatly no. The price tags were on them, and i mentioned to him that they were a good price. When i grabbed em, they had new price tags, with newly scribbled prices. I wouldnt have said anything if i wasnt 100% Sure. Our little town has had several mines close, and everyone feeling it. :-(
Didn't go out there, went shopping for supplies for the Bonneville trip. Oh yea, the wife made me get a hearing test. Seems she thinks I can't hear half the stuff she tells me.
fired and broke in the 327 in the 40 coupe I'm doing. Had my wife help and watch for leaks, etc-was 100 degrees and probably 120 in the garage after the 40 ran at high rpms for 20 minutes-that was enough-too hot !!!!
Finished getting the body ready to take off today on my avatar. Building a new frame with 350-350 and eight inch, I know, belly button stuff, but it is more affordable than the original plan. Will keep me busy this fall/winter.
We have two hurricanes coming right at us . I was amazed at all the loose stuff laying around here. Sure I did not get it all .
Took my '47 Ford Coupe to an open house / rod show Tuesday afternoon. My step brother upon arrival informed I had no brake lights. Today on the lift I found the two 2 prong connector loose with about 2 feet of electrical tape wound around it to secure it. My BAD. That was my roadside quick fix I did to it last summer when suffering the brake light blues. I swapped in a new harness and connector, still no lights. A last resort......installed another new low pressure hydraulic brake light switch. Perfect, got stop lights now. That the second switch for the '47 in 2 years and my '36 has eaten 3 of them in 10 years and my '32 is on it's 2nd lo pressure switch in 10 years. What's with that?
