Got this stalled out 50 Chevy truck project from my sister and brother in law. Has all the sheetmetal, my BIL dis***embled the bed, needs some rust repair, and sitting on S-10 ch***is. I picked up a 68 Olds 455 (Delta 88 version) that I plan to use in the truck instead of the common SBC or later LS engines.

Correct, the car for sale in Scio is a coupe and has been listed for $2500 for a while now. Seller states the motor is locked up...It certainly is tempting me to get it and try to unstick the motor.

Certainly not saved from the crusher or from being forgotten but I did resurrect these neat old magnesium American front runners.

They had been blasted before being listed for sale. I worked on matching them to my magnesium Halibrands.

I gently polished the lips. After working on just one, I compared the two.

Here are both wheels ready to darken.

I applied some chemicals to oxidize them.

After a few rounds and drying them completely, I applied Gibbs.

    And on the car.

It's a couple months later and I ***ume had I not worked on oxidizing them there'd be little difference from when I got them. It's just so dry here.

Here's the detailed process from a thread:
