well somebody got a really nice 33 speedo for free when they stole it out of my swap space....assholes

other than that it was a good swap, didn't sell very many big items but got rid of alot of small stuff. bought a few small thing as well, a schroeder 1/4 midget box and an early cad offenhauser 2x2 intake for a great price.

im happy i didnt walk through the swap or id be broke right now.

got a chopped 32 w/s frame for my race car, dual belt pulley flathead water pumps (dont know what they are called officially) with ball bearing rebuild kits and a pair of spring perches. all of it bought or given to me by friends. awesome.

sold a few things for cheap and was happy to do so, even at a loss.

There's a guy taking his "right to bear arms" a bit literally. :D:rolleyes::eek:

  14. All those pitman arms are brought by a steering component reduilding co.

They are what is attached to all the steering boxes they buy at the meets to rebuild.

If you want to make a few bucks, and have steering parts laying around, bring the cores to the next Pomona or large SO Cal swap. They will find you and buy the cores.

I don't remember their Co name though.

That Dude told me he wanted $1750.00 for those two POS 36 rear fenders, if we're talking about the same fenders, best buy there was the 40 Merc coupe ww flat blk and with skirts asking 22,000. drive it home 18,500. hell of a deal..........

  18. I scored NOTHING. I looked, and I looked for 2 days, and NOTHING. I was really on the hunt for a cool car, not parts. There were LOTS of "for sale" signs, but the prices were flat out insane. I did see a T(?) with red flake paint and a Nailhead for $13K that wasn't too bad. I might also be interested in the Tony Nancy tribute roadster that Limeworks built. I'm waiting for a phone number from CraigR on that

Went to my first L.A. Roadster show in 1967. Told my dad about it, “sure let’s go”. He was a member of the S.C.T.A. Hornets from about ‘38 he had some friends from those days that I was privileged to meet over the years, Multy Aldrich, Scotty, Johnny Vesco and others that I have forgotten. I learned a lot that day, “That’s an Olds head… put that on a Chevy four with Nash rockers and Durant rods and it will come to life”. He had done just that to his ‘28 Chevy coupe right after doing a three inch chop to it ,without a magazine article to tell him how while he was a junior in high school, in 1937. He was a rodder. We continued to go to the L.A. Roadster show for the next few years, until he couldn’t anymore. Lost him in 1978, still miss him.
I continued to go after that, sometimes taking my then new wife, she is a good sport. When the kids came along and were big enough they came along also. This last one I was thinking how the swap did not have as much good stuff as in the early days. A matter of perspective I guess as many on this group found some stuff they were looking for. I did not find that ‘29 roadster drivers door, o well.
Sooo… What did you score at the L.A. Roadster Show? I got the big score…a day with my son and some memories of my dad.
