Didn,t sell anything to buy my 57 although....I sold a wicked 78 Monte Carlo to buy the sheet metal and a mig welder afterwards. I also "GAVE" a 35 Dodge coupe body to my buddy who hauled the 57 home for me.He pointed out that I had a 35 Dodge coupe,40 Olds coupe and the 57 Chevy all in the driveway and no room for my daily drivers. The 40 got sold a few years later.....
Not really, but I traded a Triumph chopper frame and springer for a rebuilt 400 SBC to drop in the boy's '64 Caddy.
I sold this: for the deposit on my apartment and furnishings for it when I went thru my divorce... Life has been hell since then, still payin' for the lawyers but I have this to look forward to EVERYDAY: I'd say it was worth it...
I would say that out of all these posts on this thread, that YOU my friend got the best deal of all........IT WILL GET BETTER! 48 PONCHO
I built this.. then traded it even up for this.. miss the hell out of the bike , buts I'm dealing cause I got these still.. but going to finish this first before selling it.. and keep this for my daughter
I sold a 1970 Triumph I built, to get this almost finished Roadster Pickup. I got it up and going with a new motor , fixed reverse in the trans , rear rear suspension, brakes , rewire, seats, clutch, tires, calipers, rims, exhaust. Maybe I should've kept the bike?
Traded this - a pretty decent '68 Dodge D100 Swepty with a 318 and automatic... ...for this, a '56 Plymouth two door wagon, that originally had a 277 Poly engine, but will soon have a '69 440 rumbling inside!
sold the dart to buy the 29 , still have the 70 challenger , but have enjoyed the 29 build more than any of the "muscle car" builds ive ever done , but i sure do miss that 69 dart with the 340 , glass hood , baby tubbed and 3" pipes with the flowmastes . although this new progect has really re captured my imagination and the reaseon i started doing this hot rod thing all those years ago . ps my better half hated the 69 dart and really loves the 29 , what a gift !
By selling this: and this: I was able to buy this: Now don't start doggin me here...the 1st 2 were not mine but I restored the silver Packard and refreshed the Duesy. I knew more than anyone else about em so I got the nod to move them to new collectors. Now I have 3 cars to restore for myself with no time. What I wanna know is how I can buy more time...what do I sell for that? I almost sold this: But I like the way it looks...I have to build it or I'll end up in an institution! So I sold a 56 Chev 2dr HT body and frame that overstayed it's welcome.
I sold my fender half stack to get my 31 cowl and doors. And now I am selling off all my other car projects to buy parts for this one!
I didnt sell anything of mine yet.... But If anyone knows where I can turn in my soul for a model A 5w let me know! hehehe
LOL! Half stack for half car! quote=Patdoody;3365466]I sold my fender half stack to get my 31 cowl and doors. And now I am selling off all my other car projects to buy parts for this one![/quote]
I traded this straight across, because she was getting tired and needed work I couldn't perform anymore.... For this which was a fresh car, non-HAMB friendly car I saw at different stages of the build and reminded me of a ride I had while dating my wife and the first few years of our marriage. I still have it.
I sold my chopped and slammed '56 F-100 in order to raise the cash for a '51 Merc. After seeing how out-of-range the prices for a '51 Merc were, I fell in love with this '51 Vicky and bought her. At first I felt I should have shopped around more but now I am deep into the Kustomizing of her so I'm pretty happy with the whole thing. The hardest part was seeing my effie roll away with out me in it. Michael
