It's not totally finished... but it's registered, has a windshield now, it runs, drives, and stops... that's good enough for me until the snow starts to fall.
Started with this...actually in good condition except the floors and trunk. And so far it looks like this..............................
May 2006... about 3 years later, September 2009 (I worked 70 hours a week in 2007, traveled 330 days in 2008, about 120 in 2009, so maybe 7 or 8 months in dog years?)
32 Chevy coupe dirt track body (doors welded up, back gl*** cut out, no wood) Built my frame out of 2x3 tubing Top cut 3", 4" channel, still got a long ways to go...
Started with the old dirt track 34 ford out of South Carolina: Finished with channeled unchopped 5 window
I am just blown away with the creativity that is in this post. Just goes to show that guys can dream big. Very impressed with with the detail that come from a pile of rust and old grease. Way to go guys. __________________________________________________________________________ Like I told the kid, "Your music's not too loud, its just like OKC, it ****s!'
Feb. 1996, on it's original ch***is, no engine, and the front clip is held on with baling wire... Progress was slow, parts bought with income tax refunds, gathering tools, took welding cl***, paid off credit cards, bought a Harley in '02 then I went back to college in '03, got a degree in Dec. '06... 8-16-07 - This is a second ch***is I built up. The rest of the build log from this point to now is here A couple of weeks ago... Billetproof drags... driven to (60+ miles), ran down the track multiple times (9.8@74 in the 1/8 best time), then driven home. Never done, but this weekend it's getting a trailer hitch put on it... to drag a camper to Daytona.
