LOL for years I thought that Tampa was tampax and the X was silent. Then I got a friend from there and looked closer at a map and realized that it didn't have an X.

Metalwork completed and current status

 

My avatar, 1400 hrs to completion, finished late 2014.

 

I guess this red RPU needs no introduction. I was sorting through some old photos and came upon these.
The day in 1997 that I bought the RPU from Bruce Geisler. We'd spent a whole day pulling it all together from around Bruce's shop, yard and sweltering loft spaces.

My 64 Biscayne after being stored in a barn for 46 years. A true time capsule that looks as is it just rolled out of the show room.

My '33 Plymouth:
In 1996 after returning from Nats in Columbus. The body had been stored in a buddy's barn north of Columbus since 1988.


In 2006 at USFRA 130 MPH Club attempt (thanks Todd Korol for the photo):

 

bought in 2008 as running driving car. drove it home from St Louis to Omaha. dark grey with grey tweed interior. in 2009 started rebuild having it media blasted and completely redone.

 

WOW! Today I received an e-mail from the son of the barber across the street from where I worked in Cleveland in the 1960's and early 1970's. It had a URL to a video of 40 COOP when the barber owned it in 1968. I bought the car 4 years later. Here's what it looked like then and now:

 

Not much. Bought it off a scrap trailer in Colorado. Six month build.

Lots of talented people on this forum. After working on my own car for 6 months, I have a greater appreciation for what they do.
Mine in June, this year, when I bought it.


More recent and I have it on the road now

 

Outwardly, aside from the dropped stance it isn't that different. Most changes are inside the car.

 

My old raspy '32 looked like this in 1972 when 1st bought; except for some rotten tires on mag Americans.

That's the rolling chassis builder from Albequerque, NM (I bought it on the H.A.M.B.

Here's how it looks today:





Pretty soon starting on 53 COOP (bought it in 2010 after it sat in the same spot for 21 years) but I've been driving it since 2011, have a 331 Hemi ready, and plan to do my first curved-glass chop):

 

The '40 a few years ago. MUCH better shape than most of the junk I usually drag home.
