History WHAT DID YOUR ROD OR CUSTOM PROJECT LOOK LIKE WHEN YOU GOT IT

When I picked it up.

 

Here's a 52 pick up I did about 35 years ago. It had a 351 Windsor in it. Pictures are out of order obviously. The color is off too. Looks black but it was actually a real dark burgundy .

 

That's the cab in bed of my pickup and the bed is in the bed of the truck belonging to my pal, BobbyBuilt.

Driven about 10 years as above; more or less.

With Americans added at end of last year.

 

This is what I started with, it was a long time ago...... It had a 1950 Mercury title, a good roof and it was sitting on a late model chassis. Needless to say I'm still working on it, I've made some good progress over the past twenty plus years. Hopefully it will be shinny in the near future. Picture below was taken in the mid to late 90's

'41 Ford PU...salvage yard to hot rod ..home built

 

Designed and built by me in the 90's. Now owned by our Son and his Family in Michigan.

 

It was already running and driving when I got it. I work slow, and try not to have it down for more than a couple weeks at a time at most when doing a project. Most of the things I've done are small and/or not easily visible.

I'll play. The day it came out of a barn in Montana, then the day we loaded it up @Stogy 's old place in Ontario to today. All in all a great journey and made a life long friend in Stogy. Our hobby kicks ass!

after I brought it home cleaned it up 12 years ago, then 4 years ago decided I needed to freshen it up a bit. Did the body work and sprayed the primer in 2016 4 years later it sits

It looked just like my avatar only it’s at up about 3” and had Keystone Classics and fat tires sticking out an inch or so all around. They came off when we got home from Indiana and it got lowered and chrome wheels and BFGs within a couple days . That was 42 years, 4 months and 17 days ago, but who’s counting?

Here's what it looks like today.

 

A Family 37 Chevy Chopped Sedan project we designed and built in the late 80's. Enjoyed by us all including our Son and Daughter who also drove it. We sold the car in 2000 and I found it again in 2011 when I bought it back for a second act. Now when the Grandkids visit they get to share the back seat where their Mom or Dad used to ride.
