The ONLY time that I've seen more door customs look cool is if they shave the door handles. It doesn't draw your eye to the back doors as much.

  2. On that one you would need to do something with the quarter glass. That bar going up behind the roll up door glass is a dead give away.

You should not actually try to make a silk purse from a sows ear, there are plenty of desirable bodies out there to work with. In the morning that car is a grocery getter, end of the day it will still be a grocery getter.

Buff, lower, chrome reversed rims, nice tires, maybe a slight window tint= cool ride.

The hubcaps on the car are not 56's. I just so happen to have hundreds of 50's and 60's Mopar wheelcovers if you need a set of correct 56 caps. I am not a Chrysler fan either but I would just clean it up and give it a buffing and drive it until someone else wanted to buy it. I once traded a set of Pontiac rally wheels for a clean 52 Dodge moredoor. Cleaned it up, got it runnin good and sold it for $3500.00 bucks, come to think of it that was my favorite Dodge ever!

Buff it, lower all the windows, crank the tunes and drive it. It's pretty cool and I bet it would be a hoot to cruise in. If you don't end up loving it, someone will. Leave it a blank canvas. Someone will look at it and think "I can restore that" or "I can paint it flat black and slam it..." It's hip to be square baby.. just have fun.

I have never had or wanted a 4 door. Ill probably buff it out, lower it a bit and just drive it. I have a collection of keepers (2 doors). This will most likely just be a seller, or trader..... I like the blank canvas approach.

looks like a great family hauler/dd. I would clean it up, drop it, and drive like hell.

  14. Bigg foot, Uh Yeti,

Unless you just need the cash there is no reason to dump it if it is a good solid runner. There is nothing wrong in the world with having a good running bad weather car. You got your rod or custom and then you have an old stocker, it keeps you driving a classic year around. It still snows in bend doesn't it?

I would just hook it up as a daily driver.

Get it running solid, looking clean, and keep a permanent "For Sale" sign in it while you drive it. I know it's a 4-door, and would make for a horrific rod/custom, but I would totally go for something like that for my wife to use as an unmolested daily driver.

anyone have any pics of these 56's? i prefer the 55 belvedere hooded headlight look my self. but this thing is super deco/ chrome. its ugly cool. and i like slightly ugly cool cars. would be a cool daily, but i have my 54 plymouth for that haha. i am not a one make/ kind or car guy. i see potential in everything.

The appeal of an old four-door like this is entirely in its cleanliness and originality. Anything you do to alter that will diminish its desirability. I kinda like it.

Put me down for the wide whites and the buffer too.

A neighbor has a clean, black 55 Chrysler and is constantly being asked to rent it for weddings and TV commercials.

You'd certainly be the rare fish at the car show pond.

South Dakota answer would be studded snows and a good heater. It would make a great winter beater.

    eeeeewwwwwwwwwwwwwwwww..... good one.

My vote? If you own a bike, make it into a convertible ElCamino style custom bike hauler..... weld the back doors up, hack the top off, open up the tail and make it a smooth floor with a bike channel in it.... neat??? sounds cool to me.
