I have a '39 3 speed tranny bolting to a F1 crossmember transmission mount. What should I use between bolting the tranny on to the mount? I would think that there would be a rubber biscuit that I could use. The gap is only about 3/4". What are you guys using? Thanks! 1930 Ford Coupe Body 1932 Frame F1 transmission crossmember and mount 1939 Ford 3 speed tranny
No rubber. The trans bolts solid to the mount and the rubber is between the mount and the crossmember.
Perfect! I just ordered another Transmission Mount from Mac's. The original one was in bad shape. We'll just need to modify the new one a little bit where it bolts together. There is that 3/4" gap and the bolt holes dont line up too well. So the tranny bolts right on to the mount and the rubber under the mount is the cushion..got it. Thanks for your help!
Hello Junk Hunter, Ok help me out here. If I take off the section of the '39 tranny that has the ears that bolt to the transmission mount and use yours. I can then bolt right to the mount? That would be good, then I wouldnt have to modify the mount. The tranny is over at my friends shop, so, I dont have it in front of me to take a look at it.
Yes, Please send a pic. I need to make sure I'm buying the right thing. I have a history of buying two of everything. I told my wife I was building an ark. My regular email address is: scott-irwin@sbcglobal.net Thanks!!!
