I agree with your reasoning, the one thing or should I say TWO things
that made this perfect photo backgound for Barris was the two large
pots by the front door. Unfortunately the pots are now long gone.

THANKS to everyone that showed interest.-----------

The pots are there when BARRIS did the 3/4 views--in the side views they
are on the right outside of camera view.

wasn't that was just recently mentioned in a magazine how george always used that house in pics...or maybe i just read that recently in an old mag and am thinking it was in an new mag,,sometimes my brain fells so fried i cant tell the difference! :D hahha
is this REAL,or is it memorex?:D

  8. I'm not saying the urns are a common element to all photos. My point with the urns is they are a detail that appealed to George and answeres whyhe used this location to begin with. You don't realise how much work went into the original decor and landscaping until you look at the color photo where everything looks seedy and the detail is missing. It's just an old tired house.

I need to get a life.

  9. In the barris dvd he talks about how he always used that house, and he gave no real reason he even wondered what the inhabitants thought of having him take photos there all the time!

I think it's probably just some house he frequented, for what reason, we may never know.

btw: Alcorn's Merc has a horrible chop.

  11. If you knew who was in those pots you wouldn't be wondering.

I guess Gerge didn't need a location release of to pay the homeowner because the cars wer on a public street and the home is in plain site and the owner would have no reasonable expectation of privacy. Anyone can stand in the traffic and look at eht house.

Mr Barris didn't get where he is by spending money unecessarily.

I'm extrapalating this hockum from bare shreds of information.

Yasu George! May your chilren always celebrate your birthday.

I looked at my Barris book. He's says that it was just a location he liked to shoot and that he often wondered what the ppl thought of him always taking pictures outside of their house. Odd.

  13. Obviously he's telling you only what he thinks you need to know.

  14. Yes it was. I was thinking the same thing. TRJ maybe? Maybe the one with Sam's Merc???
