It means you need to learn to use the search function.

  7. Post count. Total arbitrary in practice. Is up to reader to diagnose if the high count poster has a knowledgeable opinion, or has and makes us tolerate his diarrhea of submissions. Conversely, a low post counter does not mean that he is without sharable knowledge and experience, which of course is what I feel many of us here would think the HAMB was designed for.

No ****! Show me how 'search' explains what I originally asked about.

In fact, show me anything on this website that explains the criteria for any of the following:

Ooops. I have a funny feeling someone will be very clear in their answer to your above post. One thing about the hamb, if you ask a question like that you WILL get an answer. Generally the amount of **** that will fly is directly proportional to the at***ude of the poster.

That being said, I have a feeling you will get a very direct response tp the above request.

6inarow..........Obviously it ain't common knowledge or you woulda' answered it.

I asked a legit question. I got a couple of helpful answers that I thanked the HAMBers for, and I got my balls busted about not knowing how to use the 'search' function.

All I did then was ask to be shown how..........................and I've got an at***ude?
    WTF?

Uncledaddy, you can figure most of this out if you look a bit at the posts. For instance, stuff like alliance member. It is common knowledge - look at the top of the page and click on "the alliance". Why waste time answering something like that because you cant click on the tab. Dont take that last statement as busting your balls - just click on the tab.

BTW, it means someone spotted the organizer an annual dues to get member priveleges.

    6inarow,
I didn't take anything as ball-busting 'cept for.......'It means you need to learn to use the search function.'

I know what the Alliance is, just wanted to know about the different acronyms is all.
And now, I'll probably be banned from the HAMB. Ha

    Thanks

It's just a rating system to show the number of posts you have put up. I'd put more weight on the fact that you have been a member of the board since July of 2006.
You will probably have a hundred hits on your profile by guys checking to see what you posted in the past and they will judge you on that an not the total number of posts that you throw out.

We have people who answer a lot of questions, put out good info and post a lot of great event photos and then on the other side we have guys with 2000+ posts who's total content equals "*****in car dude".

And some times it just flat means that some of us spend way too much time on the computer and not enough time out in the garage getting things done.

By the way it appears that you have had a few interesting things for sale at times, had a hell of a time figuring out that electric temp gages are not always even close to accurate and have had to straighten out a dinged oil pan at one time. But very little bs so good on ya.

I went to the top of the page, clicked on "search"
a window popped open, I typed "member label"
I found this very relevant thread on the first page:

    http://www.jalopyjournal.com/forum/showthread.php?t=127994&highlight=member+label

    relevant because:
    it answered your question
it has some very good responses to a newbie question
it shows how someone with skin of a reasonable thickness responds to some light jabbing

I'm so sick of this Internet forum crybaby age...

    <-------BTW look at my label

PS. no offense, no animals were hurt during this post, and my keyboard is 100% organic...

This is what all the labels generally mean. It is somewhat like a rating in the miltatary.

    General

    Major

    Private
