What do you carry for a jack in your car?

Discussion in 'The Hokey Ass Message Board' started by 4t64rd, Apr 22, 2009.

  1. I have a spare (155/80r15) that's the same size as the smallest wheel tire combo (5.60x15 fronts) and the hydraulic jack fits under the tire in the well in the trunk, but every time I stop, it slides areound and makes noise, I was thinking that something I can drill into and put a wingnut on would be better. I'm also thinking that down the road I'd want something that can be painted up nice and displayed when the trunk is carpeted and upholstered... Just like back in the 50's bro!

I have an older 2-ton floor jack I bought from Sears, I think, in a little plastic suitcase. I just stuff it beside the tool box. Around town I leave it in the garage, but for road trips I like to have it and enough tools to get the job done. I've had to buy wrenches pliers and stuff at hardware stores while on the road. Never again.

  3. The bumper jack that came with it '53 years ago. Works fine .. + the bumper will actually hold the car .. Amazin' in these days and times ..
