I collect way too much stuff, my favorite is the gas and oil stuff. I have a large collection of the small tin oilers with all different logos on them. I collect anything with Gulf oil on it. I have a large collection of Mountain Dew bottles. My wife collects pepsi bottles. I wish I had a pic of the small oilers with me here. You can see some of my stuff behind my car.

I collect those 70's cartoon glasses and 50's and 60's Rock and Roll records.
    I have about 3000 Albums and 1000 45's.
I also collect anything old I find at garage sales, etc. I love hitting hte Friday morning garage sales. Here in Atlanta i have gotten some GREAT deals on tools and equipment (80 galllon 2 stage 175PSI compressor for $200 was the latest).

  6. When you could still buy the stuff reasonably (I was 12-18 years old) I collected Coca Cola machines and signs, neon clocks and signs, and pedal cars. Prices got high and I sat on what I had until it came time to buy her a ring. That was the end of that collection.

After we got married I got into Arcade cast iron toys from the 1920's and 1930's. I had a great little collection until I realized it was standing between me and a running RPU. I really liked those little toys but since I shipped them to their new owners, I haven't missed them once.

I'm down to a Shell gas pump, a neon clock, a Murray pedal car, and a Coke fishtail sign. Everything "collectible" I've bought in the past five years has been sold off to go toward the RPU. (and the damn thing still isn't done  ).

I used to have a hard time letting go of hard-to-find stuff but I've adopted an easy come, easy go attitude. When it comes down to it, it's all just old junk. Not worth obsessing over for me. Took me a long time to realize that.

  7. Skateboards..

I am trying to collect all the boards I onced owned. Which is over 100 easy since I owned my own shop back in the day. And others I didnt own but are cool. When I have them all I will display them for now they are being kept in storage..

I collect SBC's with four bolt mains, I guess. I have four that aren't in cars yet. One is a 302, two are 350's and one's a 355. They're for the four cars: '30 coupe, '31 slant windshield, '33 and '34 pickups. Also have a pretty good collection of guns and ammo. Ya know what they say: Only the paranoid survive.

Having a running rod and using it is better than looking at a collection. I use the stuff I collect (cars, quitars, etc) because my Dad always stressed to me if you don't use it, your just saving it for someone else.
