  4. Long time collector here from a long line of collectors. I come by it honestly.

Most of you would be insensed if I told you that collectors can be "cured" by medicationsuch as Prozac. I've seen it happen.
    Too scary to contemplate.

Curently collecting/fighting for space is the Fine Art on the walls, lithography, serriograph and oil both abstract and representative. Inherited from my father who was, yes, a collector supreme.

I've got a garage of mopar stuff loosly organizedinto car like shapes.

Books, Real trashy paperbacks "Commie Sex Bomb" for example.

I'm more interested in in Ephemera these days. Fragile stuff like paper, letters, pamphlets, vintage photos.

I found a bunch of womens wrestling photos from the 20'-40s. There really was a "professional" organization.

Owners manuals and operating instructions for various vintage machines.

Build plates from old machines. Often these are brass and have lots of dtail etched into them. I have one from a Gherlinger lumber carrier. If I can ea way to photograph it I'll put it up.

New York City stuff circa 1930-1970

I am always looking for vintage maps. Especilly of areas that I'm very familiar with. It is instructive how much real estate or streets disappear or are created at the cartographers whim.

    Vintage neon and vintage advertising.

I've disposed of the very large nmatchbook collection, the stamp collection and the very cool swiizzle stick collection.

I was an avid baseball card/yearbook collector until it became just a dollar game. The hell with that.

I have a small but stylish collection of sport coats. And wingtip shoes. I forgot about those. Johnson Murphy's.

I'll collect anything 57ish Mopar ie ads, manuals, catalogues, interoffice memos flotsam and jesam.

Beer cans. 12 ounce size that I've drank by punching a couple of holes in the bottom and sucking the beer out. Try going into a bar and ordering a beer in a can and ask the bartender for an ice pick or phillips screwdriver and then punch two holes and drink the beer out the bottom. It's always good for a couple of stares from someone down the bar.

I now have over 3,000 different cans from all over the world that I've tasted the beer from.

I collect all kinds of old crap, mostly automotive or tools. Hoarding shit bores me, I just like finding it, so my collections are rotating. I do have about 40 cast iron skillet ashtrays and #3 skillets on my kitchen wall.

  11. That looks kinda familiar, unrestored.

and I almost forgot, my grandpa was a minor league player in the 30's in Bay City, MI, and was teamates with Vic Wertz. There were close friends even after my g'pa quit and Vic went on to the bigs. Vic would bring gramps with him in the locker room and introduce him to the guys once in a while. Here are the baseballs my granfather had signed, one from the '51 Detroit Tigers, the other the 1949 All-star American league players, 'cept gramps brought a national league ball with him, they signed it anyway. These are NEVER leaving me.

Alcohol. It's a little tricky to hold though, so I drink it first and carry it around with me.

I collect both early and current 1:25 plastic models.......and then......I......build them. I have about 300 built and 300 unbuilt. I got out of it for a few years when my kids were young but now have a 5 going at once waiting for the paint to dry.
