your ride is so low and you have to change your tire, i.e. when you get a flat, etc? Getting the rear tires off is too bad, but getting it back on has been a real******! Is there a trick to getting it back on or am I just an****?! Let's hear your solutions...
My 54 aint that low but I need to get the frame jacked way up and let the axle drop as far as possible. When I had the cheater slicks on it was almost not possible!
Tman, yeah, that makes sense. I realized a few weeks ago while I was crawling under neath, the muffler shop ran my exhaust straight through. Now my axle sittin' right on top of the exhaust! That's probably what's making it such a****** to get off and on. Another question for you. Should I cut off the exhaust to drop the axle or let the muffler shop deal with that*****?
Remove the shock, jack the frame from the side, puts all the weight on the good side. Apply Astro-Glide and remove tire. Then reverse!.........OLDBEET
Do like some of the first Pro/Stock boys did. Jack up the car, block the frame, with jack under rearend unhook all suspension, lower rearend down out of the car, change tire, jack up rearend, reconnect suspension. Simple, and easy to do on the side of the road in a downpour. Frank
Yeah, I think I will. Now, if I can just get it back on! Now I know why that shop was so cheap, ya get what you pay for...
