What do you do in winter time , Time to get projects ready for spring ? What are you working on ? We decided to drop our projects for a couple months and clean up the shop, The time we spend working on our projects is always in the same (place) shop so now we're trying to put some creativity in the shop instead of our cars this long winter. And we put Our Mascotte " Joe Fiper " In the office chair in charge of the phone.
In winter? Go swiming, surfing, skiing, skydiving, driving in open top cars and generaly enjoy ones self. Doc.
can't beat that "Aussies" you guys can spend Xmas at the beach My best friend lives just outside Sidney..he always bugs me when we have the snow here that he sits at the side of the pool ...Have lots of Fun there ..Greeting from Cold and wet Canada
Build build build. I try to build one car (truck) every winter. Start in October drive it by April..............
lets see... the 2 major progects this winter. get a small block in the van, and get the dakota clip welded to my 50. the minor projects are get my 3 wheeler running well, and get the dirt bike running.
If I am outside I normally freeze my ass off as I don't have a shop and the tarp on top of my Costco tent carport blew off in the last windstorm so I don't have much protection from the elements at the moment. I did clean the area next to the garage last Sunday and move the 48 over so I could get to the cabs that I am going to build my new cab out of. Sunday, it's put a new tarp on the carport frame and see if I can enclose it enough to be able to work in it with the blast heater kicking out diesel fumes and heat.
Your on my wish list for a visit, but Are you guys still driving on the wrong side of the road ? ...i think i prefer the snow..
i spend my winter collecting parts, ideas, and doing small stuff (for the projects) that can be done in the house and building a few model cars and staring at the computer screen (hamb) to see what rodders in warmer climates are doing if it is a warmer type winter (35 degrees+) then i try to be outside doing something on the car this winter is not one those warmer winters sooo far .....dammit
Oh no, we don't do ANYTHING the wrong way................... You see we are why the male of our species gets the bad wrap of 'having to be right all the time', we Aussies are right all the time, you guys just developed the need not the ability......................... Doc.
Get out and enjoy the best temps of the year in Phoenix, 77-80 degrees this week,we can actually touch our cars without getting a 3rd degree burn.
God I feel like a Bastard, there is always one thast carries on about how good they have it...........musta' been my turn. Doc.
In the past, The side door on my garage wouldn't open when it got really cold, but it didn't matter since I had no project. I spent the winter sitting on my ass wishing I had a project car. Since I now have a project, I made sure that I got that door repaired during warm weather. I also got a heater while it was still warm, too. I'm not always the best at planning ahead, but I got this one right. I'll spend this winter pushing the Chevy a little further to completion.
..........I work on my cars and have friends over for a few beers( I have a heated shop).......a lotta bull-shit happens.....
In winter I drink beer to stay warm. In summer I drink beer to cool down. (BURRRRP!!!) Ah, what was the question again?
Andy, Here's hoping it's not a repeat of last Winter around this area. Looking forward to seeing the '40 out and about in the Spring.(Jalopy Showdown for sure). Happy Holidays,...Don.
Is that a current pic? Man, you guys are doin it hard. I bet a good sense of humour is a real handy thing.
