What do you like about your car that upsets others

I drive it and it's not finished.....guys say "Oh, what's this ?", then I say "It's not finished".......Then he says "Wow, what's going on here ?"....and I say "IT'S NOT FINISHED !"......It drives me nuts, but I like driving it, and it WILL get finished eventually.....more or less..............

 

Most Cats I've met really dig my sled,
I have met one or two Clydes who were upset that I would Gut, Cut, french, alter, and all around HotRod a car as "rare" as mine though.....but hey, it's MINE.
But like I said, for the most part, Folks are into it; and I don't care what people say, I couldn't be more proud of the ol' girl.

 

I have a guy at work who tells me I shouldn't be using it to drive to & from work....I should park it somewhere safe & buy a 'sensible daily commuter car' for the trip....

I tell him, its insured, registered, reliable & daily driven..... And its a car.....built to be driven!

He just doesn't get it

 

I radius the rear wheel opens, and the car had very little rust and no cuts even in the floor. Theres a few poeple that just can't handle it.

 

At my first local Model T club meeting I stood, introduced myself and stated I had a 1919 Model T Speedster. I was immediately heckled. Sometimes it's the whole car.

on my old '65 c10 chevy pickup I always get weird questions about when am I going to put 20 inch aluminum wheels on it with low profile tires... when am I going to bag it and... basically do the "mini truck makeover" to it... so I just say to them: we are using your credit card, right?

That usually shuts them up.

I see things in cars all the time that I like or don't like, but I've never understood the urge to walk up to someone and diss their hard work in their pride and joy no matter what condition it is in. Everyone has to start somewhere.

guys with real big money cars hate when my car is parked next to them, seems people walk right past them to check mine out.

I get the 'Its sooooooooo loud" comments, my Coupe with straight piped y-block !

 

everything, but mostly, the lack of hub caps really confuses them. i get asked what kind of hub caps i'm going to run alot. "baby moons" are an awfully popular "suggestion". the dash really confuses them. they'll cock their head a little sideways, like a curious dog. and you can see that "hhhmmm" look. i mean really, you just don't do that to a "57 CHEVY". where's my twead and torq thrust? he, he.

 

I get people looking at me funny at Lowes loading the bed full. Its a truck isn't it?

 

I like your dash. I get the same reaction. "Why didja do THAT?"...like I should put fur on it, or a mural.

 

I like the so called "proportions" on my so called "bobber truck" but it seems to drive some people to name calling, especially on here. I call my truck The Abortion thanks to some asshat on here that couldn't control himself and had to spit that out!!!! Funny thing is his style of car has always looked like a grannymobile to me, but i caould care less if it's what turns his crank. i wouldn't think to post my opinion about his car unless it was asked for. Most visual likes or dislikes are very subjective, just because you or me doesn't like the way something looks doesn't mean it's wrong or bad. I have a college degree in art and I know about proportions, I like mine, but maybe someone else doesn't ....BFD!!!!

Everything. I left the fenders off, but some people said they like fenders, so I put them back on. Then somebody told me I needed wide whites so I tried that. Then somebody else told me the steering wheel was the wrong one and it wouldn't win any prizes like that, so I went to a shrink and told him I had problems because I really didn't want any prizes but it seems thats a requirement if you have a hotrod. My shrink told me I wasn't crazy, a lot of people don't like hotrods, I should try that because I would feel better.

So Now I'm cured! I don't like my hotrod either, but love that steering wheel, and still have a lot of fun driving it because it is loud and smokes a lot, which pisses the greenies off.

Now I am ready to start building another car and plan on being more tolerant of just like everybody wants it to be, but am having trouble finding a steering wheel that will please them all. They are soooooo particular!

 

I'm asked when am i going to paint it. And why don't you have a hood. I ask them why should i

 

The fact that they're still paying on their PT Cruiser when they could've built one of these

I always thought that taking the hubcaps off gave a car a sort of a no nonsense, let's get down to business (business being to haul ass), kind of look.

My wheels...I took a lot of crap for not running astro supremes on my Riviera...everybody said that's what you should run...I didn't want it to be like everybody else's and wanted to run a slightly larger wheel as I also wanted it to be something my wife would like (she likes it enough to have kind of taken it over)...I put on Coy's wheels and tires and they gave it the look I wanted at a price that I could afford

 

Oddrod, you really need to put astro's on that thing...

 

my bed doesn't match with the bodylines on my truck. ford made it that way!!

 

That's not a real Caddy in there it's a Chevy with Cadilliac valve covers or they never made a Packard like that or these young kids mess everything up, Ha I'm 68, Hank
