That it is done for now !! I can drive it anywhere at anytime, and they say "why not get it completely done so you can enjoy the finished product" I say " Who said i'm not enjoying it !!

I don't get it either Dave. You should buy a hybrid you enviro-killer! Geesh. Just because of you, the greenhouse gases have more than tripled every time you wastefully drive that thing.

I had one of the first sets off the line a few years back on my OT S-10. Nice wheels, balanced out well, lightweight considering theyre solid chunks of aluminum. easy to clean...but a pain in the ass to keep looking clean.

 

I AM WITH GREASY CHEVY OPEN HEADERS.... and I go slow when the cops are around and flog it when their NOT......screw everybody else in their SUV's.......

Since my HAMB friendly car is not yet finished/about to be sold, I tell ya what folks dont like about my non HAMB friendly 73 El Camino. First off its not a pre 72 "muscle car"(I always disliked the musclecar meatheads anyway). Its got a mild lil 305 SBC in it instead of a run of the mill 350. The 305 is red instead of Chevy orange. It will look like a billet factory exploded in the engine bay when im down with it. Its gonna be my daily driver. I plan on putting a big Poncho in it as soon as i can git my grubby fat fingers on one. I have Corbeau low back off road suspension bucket seats in it. I had one guy go on and on about how he loved 73s (he hadnt seen it, i told him i had on) and then he continued to say it was the last year before they switched the body style to the "big boat"(as he said) style. And then he continued to complain about how much he hated the "big boats" and how they were some of the ugliest cars Chevy had ever made. Then i corrected him and told him 72 was the last year before the "big boat" stlye and mine in fact was a "big boat." "oh" was the best he could come up with... hows that foot taste fucker????

The way I see it is that who ever may not like mine, as far as I know, nobody but me has paid the bills on it lately. I see tons of stuff here that I wouldn't have anything to do with and I'm sure there are folks on here (or on the street) that has no interest in my ride. When someone says "what do you think", "How do you like it", What should I do", "What is your opinion", "How about this" etc. they just opened the door to all kinds of comments. Otherwise it is of no concern what anyone else thinks is it?

 

That I refuse to spend $$ to enter a car show so someone else can charge other people to see the car.

 

A few A restorers didn't like the chop of a decent coupe...don't care what they think...I didn't build my car for the masses.

Not too hamb friendly but it sure makes people wonder what the hell is that thing...And it does piss people off becuase I'm not afraid to take a perfectly good car and screw it up.

 

I always love it when I had a primered car, and it never failed, everyone wants to tell you, "nice car, what color are you going to paint it?" What made them think the thing would be any cooler with paint???

The fact that my door's are welded shut throws some people off, but I figure that just helps me weed out the fun girls from the high maintenance ones

It's loud, hot as heck and leaks everything.

 

That's how I feel about car show judging. It's like "Well, I hope I spent all that time and money putting this car together to meet your satisfaction, sir." Hell with 'em. It's mine. I look at it and I like it. We even have a car show at a high school every year where high school students with judging clipboards judge your car. Yeah right.

Because I had installed a Lincoln V12 engine and a three speed 39 Zephyr trans instead of a 350 Chevy with an Automatic trans. And because I had the body powder coated instead of having it primered.

This is an unusual bunch at times.

 

Last year at Syracuse I found I had a power sterring leak. Couldn't get it jacked up high enoff with my jack, went to the rod repair shop and opened the hood to showed the guy where the pump was, he looked in and said, oh one of those motors. I have a MOPAR in it, then he went under the car and told me every fluid I had in the car was leaking. Another guy said, let me look, he said, give me a 3/4 wrench and tightened up the fitting. All was well. I guess he was pissed because it wasn't a SBC.
