Regardless of what is on in the background, the voices in my head usually drown all that out. But I have a TV with either the discovery channel or Spike tv with the Power Block on so I can learn to work on old cars. It never goes as good as they say it will, I must be doing something wrong. When nothing good on the tube, I listen to either country or some classic rock from the 70's and early 80's. BTW, where are you at in Ohio????
Depends on what I'm doing. For example, if I'm doing electrical work, I need to concentrate and don't listen to anything. Otherwise, music or a ball game.
Those damn voices in my head. The crazy bastards are always trying to start some shit with me- they're really starting to piss me off, too...
Johnny, George Jones, Hank(all 3), Tool, White Zombie, Napalm Death, Demented Are Go, The Smiths, CLUTCH, and occasionally a little early 90's Gangsta Rap when I am feeling like a G.
WOW, I'm only 42 and thats what I like in the garage. If thats not coming in very well then its heavy metal and big hair bands.
The mill, doming tool=shriek!, fly cutter=(chips lying), driiling etc. Music would never be heard over all of that. Lol!
If I can hear the speakers over my compresser. grinder, sawzall, and other tools that piss my neighbors off, they'r usaully blaring social d, or reverend horten, or nekro, or something of the type.
Flatt & Scruggs, Jerry Reed, King Crimson, Loretta Lynn, SubArachnoid Space, Pennywise, Halfway To Gone, Bob's Country Bunker, Buck Owens, Dave Dudley, The Stanley Brothers, Buddy Holly, The Statler Brothers, & all 3 Hanks.
Recently I enjoy listening to my "new" (to me) Air Compressor. It sounds PISSED OFF when it runs. Otherwise I have to have the radio on for the proper Garage Ambiance.
90.3 KEXP..... Swingin' doors, Thursday evenings Shake the Shack, Fridays Other times, either death metal, OLD country/blues or MFS soundtracks......
When my compressor is running, I can`t hear a damn thing --- which is great if my wife is in the garage.
Setzer, PsychoDevilles, Roy Kay Trio, Reverend Horton Heat, Big Sandy and the Flyrite Boys, Lee Rocker, Johnny Burnette, The Paladins, Johnny Cash, Elvis (Sun Records only), WWII/40s music.
Sirius Gold, or Blues played loud. Sometimes I leave it on all night hoping to breath some soul into whatever Im building.
Led Zep, Zappa, Miles Davis, a new jazz album I bought the other day, José James " The dreamer" which is a great jazz album.
I think it is the beer fridge humming / or is that just the ringing in my ears from too many years of open headers?
When im not actually doing a job that requires my compressor or something else insanely loud i like the occasional misfits cd.
