Hello, My wife and I had an interspersed style of music between rock and jazz. There were a few groups that fell into the category set out for us. One such group, Steely Dan, (Walter Becker on guitars, bass, backing vocals and Donald Fagen on keyboards, lead vocals) had other members, but decided to go with only each other writing/playing/singing vocals. “AJA” is the name of their best album that lingers on today. But, for access anywhere, a digital version is always handy... Jnaki If you have to buy one album, this is the one for the era by Steely Dan. It is a great song/album to sit and just enjoy the outdoors, the blue skies, blue waves, white water rolling up onto the beach, etc. But, the song, “Here At The Western World” is from the “greatest hits” album. If one stays long enough, it turns into a great sunset… Note: For some reason, I was in the garage doing modifications to a playground sign that was a part of our granddaughter’s continuous stay with us from 6 months into upper grammar school. She was with us for 5 days a week and sometimes, 6 days. Her parents were rising Gen-X folks with their modes and affectations. So, we had our own ways to be with our granddaughter to the delight of her huge smile everyday. Yes! A playground structure over the last 20 years was finally torn down and replaces with a full garden mode in a nearby playground. That place was our walk to, private climbing structure, sand play and lunch spot with our umbrella and snacks… We spent hours there. Part of the structure needed some upkeep and fine sanding. So, it took a while, but it was like fine tuning a motor. A little here and there resulted in a fairly new item that now hangs on our garage wall. YRMV
I predict that Steely Dan's music will never sound as old as it actually is. Most all of it seems timeless. The same goes for Donald Fagen's "The Nightfly" LP. And there's even a cool old Buick convertible featured in this video.
LOL, Me too, bitchen song. This was on the sound track from the movie "Reign on me" Starring Adam Sandler, got to see his serious side. Good movie.
